"Call it the Commonwealth if you want to confuse your Canadian friends..." Accurate. I was briefly confused, ngl

It is pretty strange that we use the same word to mean “republic” and “former imperial dominions”!

2:40 If it's something you're interested in making a video more about this would be really interesting

It might be interesting… at around my usual 6 minute duration, a video about the 7th Dynasty would be longer than the dynasty itself!

Mantho Book Egypetica itself is lost and No idea what its full information was about since it wasn't even written in Egyptian but in greek, so it was translation of something older and for sure translations can barrow with them many mistakes. Even the notion of families named by numbers and leaving the late kingdoms as not included although they did unify Egypt is wired in itslef.

This is true! Manetho definitely had access to king lists that weren’t on public monuments, and he definitely made choices about how to transcribe Egyptian names into Greek, all of which muddy the waters.

@@ArmchairEgyptology Indeed! All I wish is to discover an intact library in Egypt somewhere but truth to be told even if we do the undesired would be destroyed. I really believe Tutankhamon Tomb had books in it which were hidden from public eyes. the nag Hammadi bible is an example of the destruction that can occuer by zealots or ignorant people.
