If you're moving to Canada by leaving India and going to someone else's place, make sure you make them comfortable with you. They didn't invite you, so it's your job to make your place there and be better. Most people leave India because of reservations, racism, casteism, low quality of life, etc. So if you're going somewhere, at least try to be a better version of yourself. People in Canada are great and friendly towards others, so please don't give them a reason to hate Indians.

Everything you said is true, bro. My friend from Punjab was telling me how he saved $80-90 by not tapping Presto, and he also regularly shoplifts from stores. He owns an iPhone 15 Pro Max (512GB, lol). If I were Canadian, I would also be pissed off by these habits of our fellow desi people. @@Trucker579 I am not targeting any religion or region, bro. As he said in this video, many people do this. I believe other people from India also do this, but I was specifically talking about my friend. If you take a bus from the bus bay inside the subway station, you don’t need to tap Presto again because you already did so when entering the subway station. However, what some people do is use the restricted entrance to go directly to the bus station, which is meant only for those who have already tapped their Presto. Regarding shoplifting, the beeping system is not everywhere. There are some open items in Walmart, like dry fruits, that will not beep if you shoplift them.

The problem is that the so called students who come to Canada are village boys who have never seen a world outside their own little village. People who directly get PR from India, such as Express Entry immigrants, are much more educated and sophisticated. But it's Canada's fault for giving visas to "students" who can't even jot two sentences in English. What did they think will happen by inviting these guys. They're cracking down now but things might get a little worse before they get better as these village boys think they can protest their way into a work permit extension and PR.

The curry smell stereotype is so true. It takes simple steps to avoid the smell, like wearing different clothes while working in the kitchen, not entering the kitchen before leaving home, and keeping jackets separate . I went to high school in Brampton in the early 80's and there were no people from India anywhere... it was very much a white anglo town, and then I moved to Montreal for 25 years to work as a fashion designer. (I remember the shock of flying into Toronto on business and walking outside to get a taxi... there was an endless line of Indian guys wearing Turbans, waiting by their taxis. It was a very strange feeling, as I was not sure if I was in Canada or India.) About 10 years ago, I moved back to Ontario to live in Guelph and had heard the joke about Brampton becoming 'Bramladesh' by people at the dog park, and in the past 5 years, (since they built the massive temple in Guelph) the place has turned into a mini India, as EVERY house put up for sale, is bought by a family from India, with 4 or 5 cars in a 2 car driveway, (strangely, as soon as they move into the house, they all rip out the asphalt driveway and replace it with white concrete??) they seem to be a tribal people and every house is filled to capacity, as the husband and wife are with their kids, the brother and his wife and their parents, all living together. (They are friendly people and they don't cause any trouble... my only issue is the intense stench of spices from their house that fill the air 24/7 to the point that you cannot sit in the back yard or open a window, without being punched in the face from the powerful odour of spices!)

This mainly applies to Punjabi, not all Indian students. It is mainly their community that is involved in gangs and frauds in Canada. Also, this comment is not only to point fingers at Punjabis, but the fact remains that theirs is a very visible community in Canada, and often makes the local news for all the wrong reasons. Unfortunately, for native Canadians, the moment you identify as an Indian, they immediately think you are from a certain Indian community, which many are not. This is creating hatred for even those Indians who are not from Punjab but are from other parts of India. Punjabis need to get a grip on their youth in Canada!

Since 2020, international students have been flocking to a educational system that many Canadians now feel was used (by many of them) as a loophole-to-immigration. Students utilizing schooling as a back-door (not front-door) ticket to living in Canada. Swarming a 50+ year tradition/system that was not not NOT designed to be about EVERY international student expecting Permanent Residency ... plus it was not designed to be primarily about students expecting lengthy work permits (& spouse permits). Canadians have clued in that Canada's post secondary education system has (in 4 years time) turned into what many are now jokingly calling EDUGRATION. Plus 'edugration' (public or private) was NEVER approved by everyday Canadians. Plus what about Ghost Consulting that Canada told India to halt? Canadians want the $ greedy agents in other countries to stop MARKETING & LYING to their own people about access to PR or citizenship … or accommodation/jobs … in places like Canada being relatively easy (to get). And for any people living in western countries to be ashamed of themselves if they're getting greedy too. Anyone doing things to make $ off of people's PR desires. At best, there is a 25% chance of gaining PR (better odds if you are masters/medicine etc.). Are most international students truly scholars who came to Canada with enough $ to support themselves while STUDYING like they are supposed to? Or more-so economic migrants, who BORROWED $ to buy their way closer to the head of the immigration line? To say all the students or their consultants back home have not been at times 'gaming' Canada's education programs to gain western PR or $ is ridiculous. Students have contributed to Canada's housing CRISIS because 97% came-to-stay … not just visit with their temporary STUDY permit. This extreme NEVER existed at schools 4+ years ago. What about the IELTS spouses? Anchor babies? Fraud? False asylum claims? What about Canadian food banks & charity services being recklessly advertised on YT in Indian languages? What about Canadian housing being scooped up en-mass as investment vehicles by/for internationals? What about home rental/boarding signs stating "vegetarians only can apply"? What about some Indian nationals buying local businesses then putting Indians only in the key positions while also drastically changing work practices that include working longer hours for less $ and at times The Caste System? Canadians are worried due to witnessing these things firsthand more & more often. Even in small towns. Then throw in the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortions across Canada. Diasporas stirring up tribal hatreds (in Canada) … even though it all stems from their ancestral home. How can peace be found anywhere with this in play? Plus the Canadian government recently launched investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections. All stemming from Asia continent. Canadians are so so so not used to all this. So many, who have embraced multi-culturalism and immigration for decades are now VERY worried and fearful. All are praying it doesn't turn into great anger. Canadians want multi-culturism to succeed and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Everyone I know is VERY happy with IRCC's recent changes (reductions & multifaceted investigations etc.). Including multi-generational long-term Asian-Canadians where many have been the MOST upset (by all of this). Canadians are aware that some great students are going through hell. And know Canada is partially to blame which hurts Canadian hearts. But bottom-line, Canada decides what needs to be done in Canada. Do you see Canadians protesting in other countries (that is not their own) making demands for themselves? No. Do Canadians now see primarily South Asians protesting in Canada, making demands (due to IRCC pumping it's immigration brakes because it REALLY HAS TO)? Yes. If 36,000,000 Canadians travelled to India, since 2020, with the primary goal of being able to stay there permanently, that would raise India's population by 2.65%. Recent asylum seekers crossing into Canada… and especially international students... have raised Canada's population higher than 2.65%. Changes (& deportations) are occurring in 2024, for HUGE reasons. In Canada, UK, Australia, USA, and other western countries too. PS: Did international students and their families pay into Canadian taxes ALL their lives like domestic students have (so they can pay cheaper tuition fees)? No. Did Canada force internationals to move to Canada as a student? No. Did Canada promise/guarantee PR? Or a job? No & no. Yet do specific students only blame Canada when they can't get PR????

I faced this housing issue 1st hand when I landed in march. I had to spend a night at a shady motel just because 3 desi households I aligned to sign a lease with bailed on me by saying that we prefer only these kind of ppl only. All these houses were technically managed & run by immigrant students and the owner had no clue of this. So this is a bitter reality, if me being a desi can go through this then imagine how white canadians must feel. The unwarranted hate is wrong since its a generalization but the situation is quite terrible.

love your honest and open videos, whatever you said is absolutely true and if we don't work on these points as a community then it will only add to the fire and ruin the image of the indian community. I would also like to share my views, I think that most of the indian people have friend groups and social circles with not so good people in India already(i.e acting like gundas, thinking their entitled to everything) and when they come to canada they do form these social circles even though in a smaller magnitude and do the things that they did back in India which then ruins the image of the Indian community as a whole. Also music artists add fuel to the fire making songs about gang and shit which encourages the youth to act in a delinquent type way.I live in punjab and have seen that most young people act like gundas and holligan here and cant listen to anyone(KEY WORD MOST). Till we Indians learn to be grateful and act like our culture truly dictates us to act like, until then this hate and streotypes will remain.

Bringing your local culture to another country Won't help much. Found lots of videos about indian employers exploiting international students by offering less than minimum wage, false promises, abusing etc. Such a culture is present in Asian continents not in the US or Canada. And most established Indians maintain that toxic culture in western countries as well. Now young Indians are experiencing its drawback. Some cases might be different though.

Finally someone spoke the truth, well said!! I'm here pursuing my Master's from Victoria, BC. And I made sure to implement all the things discussed in this video well in advance and trust me I have received so many compliments from fellow Canadians (especially non-indians) that you dont feel like you came a few months back. People here appreciate well groomed Indians too. Also one more thing, I'm not desperate for a PR, so I'm not stressed about it too. I will use the PGWP to complete my loan, if that transitions to a PR eventually great, if not me & my wife are leaving for India happily. Know what are your rights and privileges, dont argue over stupid things.

Its not true that punjabi people are bad.. but the age factor plays a huge role. When 17 or 18 years old comes to Canada they immediately gets independence and try to get views or attention which at first it seems attractive for young individuals but they dont think about how they are maligning the image of their community or their country. This applicable to all Indians (Hindus, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujus)

Great video! I agree with every point you made. You make the Indian community look very good because you're trying to educate the newcomers coming from India. It is sad with the reputation that Indian folks have been getting the past few years, but it is because of a few bad apples. I'm watching your other videos and enjoying them very much! You seem like an educated person who adapted to the Canadian culture. Cheers!

Being here as an international student for almost a year I can surely agree on the smelling bad part cuz literally some people walk around the campus and if you pass by them they stink!! And my Canadian friends complained about it every day, so I became really self-conscious though I never used to smell bad but still started using deodorant 😆.

you're absolutely right about point 5. when I landed here, my cousin gave me a good amount of deodorants and roll-ons to prevent me from contributing to the stereotype. but unfortunately, they don't have a cousin or a well-wisher that can guide them in the right way. my classmate, who is very well traveled (US, EUROPE, Africa), has multiple businesses back in India and makes good money, his breath stinks SO BAD that I have to hold my breath when he's talking. I don't know how to talk to him about it. Kuch tips ho to batao yaar! ):

Deodorant part is very odd in Canada because on one area they say that we stink as Indians and then they also have no problems with smell of cigarettes, weed and other toxic smells which I can't tolerate to be honest. And also very surprisingly they have posters in areas like buses or colleges and universities like to use "common scents" where they clearly say that don't apply any scents or deodorants as people in public spaces are sensitive to it... I follow whatever people tell me really I have no problems if I am told to apply deodorants I will put it on but this is something which is really odd...

well that was a good video, i personally agree with most of the points. Especially like some things are like why do we need to talk on that but its just like sometimes we say common sense is not common among people. I just disagree with the last point a bit as sometimes especially with international students i don't know about others but when i work 8 hours and travel 3 hours or so while coming back we are all kind a tired and sweaty and public transits are full so that's one thing only. otherwise overall nice video most people are here to improve their lifestyle and broaden their horizon for future lets go forward way not the backwards lol.

He is saying the truth. I studied at Georgian College and even at such prestigious colleges, professors won't have a second thought about failing the entire class. There were professors in my college who failed 15-20 students in other classes. Me and my friends managed to score higher as we were very aware. Apart from this, the only students who are failed are most likely to be Indians in 99% of the cases. I've never seen a student from another community/nation failing a class than Indian students. Definitely it depends on the college and student, but racism against Indians is truly unbelievable. It should be discouraged because we have also paid 40,000$. We also need money to pay for our rent, groceries, transportation costs and other miscellaneous expenses (GIC only covers 1 year of a student's expenses). So before saying anything, do contemplate everything. #Peace out

Well Indians are racist too (in addition to Casteist). Indians from North East, foreigners from Africa are often given racist remarks in India. We just heard of some Gujaratis protesting allotment of a house by government to a Muslim family in their neighbourhood. In my personal experience things are relatively much better in west. We notice racism only when it gets done to us; don't we?
