CREST STRIPS ARE BANNED IN THE UK. Meaning you can’t sell them in the UK. They aren’t illegal however. You can legally purchase them from America and legal own them in the UK. The reason they are banned is because the UK’s only allows a maximum of 6% hydrogen peroxide in whitening strips where as the US allows 10% (found in crest whitening strips). Sounds scary but when you consider South Korea ban salacylic acid (opting for Betaine salicylate instead) and Azelaic Acid,whilst we happily use them in higher percentages and America ban pressed pigments around they eyes, whilst the rest of Europe can call them eyeshadows, the Crest strip ban doesn’t worry me personally. It’s all about proper usage

Is it bad for the enamel if used too much?
@Raevarie2 жыл бұрын

@TaylorVonStrasser2 жыл бұрын
Fellow RDH replying to questions below. It doesn't damage the enamel. If someone used it more than recommend it could because it is acidic (that could cause the enamel to erode, the same way eating lemons, soft drinks, jalapenos, etc can). The actual dangers of teeth whitening are when it is done incorrectly or too aggressively. There are tiny pores in the enamel and that's where the stain from food/drinks reside. The whitening goes into the pores and clears them out. If done aggressively or if your teeth are just more sensitive, this new open space can cause sensitivity to the tooth. If you keep doing it even though you have a lot of discomfort, you can cause the nerve to get irritated. It potentially could die if aggravated too much. As long as your body is responding well there is really no concern.

I definitely think there's a middle ground to be found when it comes to DIY/natural skin care. Some things like honey and shea butter work wonders for my skin...but I'm not putting lemon or baking soda on my face, lol. On the other hand, certain store-bought serums and chemical exfoliants also work really well for me. Idk why there's this either-or mentality when it comes to natural vs synthetic products. Either can be damaging or helpful depending on what it is and how it's used. We just have to be smart about it.

Especially on days that I use squalane products or rich moisturizers. It seems like such a waste, otherwise. And, also, I've heard many dermatologists say they only splash water on their faces in the morning. I think that's fine and all if the PM routine from the night before was minimal.... Loved this ❤️🥰 I use honey on my face in the morning mixed with a hydrating toner. I'd use a real mask if they were more available where I live in Malawi.

I wouldn't ever use it in my face, but when my hands feel super dry and rough, I use a spoonful of sugar and some baby oil as a hand scrub. I gently rub then rinse under warm running water and pat dry.

I just use a honey sugar scrub to bring out all the gunk, it works super well. Just honey and sugar for those little beads to work their scrubbing magic.

I have oily/combo skin and not washing my face in the morning works wonders for me. I use micellar water during the day to freshen up, though.

I've left my past of diy skincare mistakes behind but I STILL stand by honey. I get the raw unfiltered stuff and I use it as an in-shower rinse off mask and I don't know if it's the humectanr properties or the antimicrobial stuff, but if I have scabs from picked at spots/ingrown beard hairs they look 100x better when I get out of the shower. I'll do that once a week maybe, it's not an all the time thing. Another thing I use it for is a body scrubs, I'll mix honey, brown sugar, and olive or jojoba oil and it's better than any tree hut scrub. You just have to make sure you're wetting your hands so the sugar crystals dissolve a bit and aren't so harsh and that you clean your shower after ao you don't get ants or fruit flies

I love your reaction videos. Your Facebook reactions were actually how I found you but I’m much happier on KZbin; I think the video format is better and I just generally hate Facebook lol

I wholeheartedly disagree with the last bit of advice! I agree with the Tik Tok'er, instead. When I was using The Ordinary:s squalane on my face every night before bed, not as an occlusive as I applied before moisturizer, I had the best and most flawless skin I've ever had.... And it helped greatly strengthen my moisture barrier. Whereas before, my skin was severely fragile, depleted, sensitive, and dull. Not to mention dry, angry, rough, and congested. This prepared my skin for the treatments and chemical exfoliants that I eventually incorporated into my routine, after spending a good 3 months with just a basic, yet hydrating and moisturizing routine..... So by the time I started using direct acids and other actives, my skin was primed and ready to receive them. This practise gave me the best skin I've ever had, and all without any redness, irritation, or even dryness..... And this is my single biggest tip to people just starting to take care of their face skin. Get your moisture barrier sorted out before you start using actives and acids... As nobody can expect to achieve a healthy complexion if their barrier has been disrupted. Best and easiest way to achieve this, a light, noncomedogenic oil, like jojoba or squalane, plus a rich moisturizer, or gel-cream for oily-skin-peeps. Do that first and tell me your skin doesn't drastically improve..... Even without the treatments and exfoliants. But note: this isn't about slugging.... especially with Vaseline (yuck!).... and expensive Biossance or Drunk Elephants oils are not necessary. The Ordinary has a whole whack of oils for less than $10 each.

I'm using soda for house cleaning purposes and one time I forgot to put on gloves - my hands were dying after this and got back to normal after two months of heavy handcream [good and well tested by me handcream]

I definitely over whiten my teeth because I drink a lot of coffee and red wine. I buy 5d whitening strips from amazon, but also recently tried the £3.99 strips from home bargains and they're both really good with no sensitivity

I use baking soda on my nose before I use Biore strips. It's the only thing that helps get more out of my pores. Just a little bit, then rinse with water. I've tried steaming my face and masks, but nothing else works as well for me.
