Why are people so hostile to God?

This is a very interesting question. What you said is on point! individuals tend to determine God's goodness base on what happens to them in life...(speaking from experience here) but I've reached a place where I accept that trials I face in life is not of a result of God hating me, no! because God loves us. Yes! God doesn't want to see any of us to suffer, or to go to hell, however God doesn't force us to do anything, that's not of his nature. Hence because of the love God has for us, he WILL ALLOW us to CHOOSE.... on our own (heaven or hell)even though he outline the best path for us. But just know, God loves you!

Believers have a lot to do. The gods of this world has blinded their eyes. It is a stronghold, they need to be prayed for, our talking to them won't do alone but our Prayers for them in the secret place will make God's Word in our mouth to them finds expression and it will help them to see God as a loving Father. They really need Jesus but we really need to intercede for them so that the stronghold holding them can give way for God's Love in their hearts.
