This is such an illuminating video. I think anyone who works with people with autism or mental health diagnoses should watch this or at least part of it. As professionals we often have expectations of what autism looks like and don’t respect the fact that individuals own experiences can differ greatly from the within group norms.

Anxiety can be triggered by literal thinking, which can be a flag. I thought the school was burning down when the fire alarm went off and refused to enter the building because I misinterpreted the instructions during fire drill.
