I think a small but important detail, especially when looking at C9's success with eco rounds, is the lack of friendly fire. Now I know pros aren't gonna be dinking teammates in championship matches, but the presence of friendly fire as a game mechanic changes how you position around teammates. The big triple swings we see C9 utilizing to great success in val are harder to do in CS because you're necessarily running across friendly lines of fire. Not having to worry about that factor makes double and triple peaks in val safer and more unpredictable.

The game walks a fine line. Guns like the Phantom, Vandal, and OP are absolutely better guns theoretically. The cheaper guns are viable, sure, but in many ways they are more situational compared to the Swiss Army Knifes that are the meta guns. The cheaper guns being viable feels fair because they still feel their price, you just gotta play to the right situation. Now of course it wasn’t always like that *cough* Ares meta *cough* Stinger meta *cough*, but hey, just because it took time for them to find a sweet spot for the guns doesn’t detract from the overall healthy spot they’ve ended up in.

One thing imo coming from playing thousands of hours in both Val and CS is map size. CS has some tight places but overall, it has more distance in maps. Making the ak and m4 useful vs an mp5 at a distance. Val has made every gun viable by always creating a short or tight angle to come from on nearly every map, easily.

Valorant has no friendly fire and free abilities every round + the ability to see in smokes + ults. This gives "eco" rounds where in cs, you can wait out smokes because they dont infinitely recharge, and you get fair gunfights way more often.

The difference between the two games is how they handle armor. In Valorant, armor is effectively always a flat 50% increase to your max health. But in CS, the cheaper, "worse" weapons have lower armor penetration values. If you hit all body shots, shooting someone with an M4A4 (chest shots, medium range) takes 4 shots to kill, or 5 with armor. Doing the same thing with a USP-S takes 4 shots to kill, or 7 with armor.

One thing that people should account first, which was said in this video, is that Valorant is a race to 13, instead of a race to 16 like in CS. A VAL regular game is literally shorter than the one in CS so you have to make room for that. Now, imagine CS:GO with Valorant eco guns, or Valorant with a complicated side-dependent economy.

because valorant was designed to be more accessible, anyone can play it and succeed to some degree without putting in the work imo, it helps that val games are less rounds so eco guns need to be better to prevent quick blowouts. Also to make ecos work in cs you need good comms and an actual strategy rather than on valorant where i find most games to be a lot like dust 2 where you can run around like a chicken with its head cut off and still pick up rounds consistently because of the abilities that replace a good amount of the tactical warfare that exists in cs. I buy a guardian or marshal any round i cant afford a vandal and ill get a 3k and have money to buy a vandal but stick to the guardian/marshal because theyre cheaper but equal firepower in my hands but a galil/famas/scout/deagle in cs i dont do nearly as well with and if i manage to pick up kills i upgrade to an ak/m4/awp because theyre clearly better and eco wins are just more impactful on your economy in cs than valorant because theyre few and far between and losing multiple rounds in a row crashing your economy actually exists in cs and does not in valorant

Gun balancing in valo is fine tuned also because it doesn't have friendly fire turned on, you can run around with a frenzy, spectre or jump around like a chimp on redbull with a judge and shorty and hit those close range shots because you don't have to think about your teammates coming in range of your line of fire. But even then guns are damn well balanced (Plssss reduce the rng accuracy for spectre and rifles), gotta give props to riot for that

it's significantly easier to hit a headshot in Valorant, especially with assisting skills on top it. And as long as you can hit headshots, literally anything will be strong. I mean, CS has weapons that do the job like this too in form of legendary Mag7, good old Scout, Deagle and Mac, but with addition of new buy menu, where you can run both deagle AND R8 i can see the abonded child of run and gun being R8, become such a broken turning gun, due to it leaving you at one shot after getting hit, 2 R8's along mags, or smg's might make CS:GO half buys literal hell for full buyers. I see the key difference between CS and Val as. They are both tactical shooters. But Val leans more towards tactical while CS is a bit more shooter. CS is more for the mechanically inclined while Val requires deeper strategy. They're the same game at heart but they've taken 2 different directions.

Full eco rounds are much more winnable in Valo than in CS, if you are trying to shoot someone with a Glock vs an M4 you ain't going to get any change out of it, but being able to triple shot the Classic to one tap people with full armor makes it possible, also the abilities allow for you to get more eco round wins that you normally would in CS even with a few flashes & smokes. I like playing both games but if you want a more tactical & more skillful shooter CS is the game for you!

Well... I mean it's still a PvP game though so the more skilled & tactical player will win. So CS is *not* the more tactical & skillful shooter. The better description of CSGO would be *raw.* If you want a more *raw* shooter experience, CSGO is the perfect game. That's the very reason why I prefer CSGO over Valorant. Also CSGO's map designs are just better. And the movements are more crisp so peeks are better than Valorant. But in both games you have to put in the time to practice, or else you'll never improve.

Even the kreig and the aug meta in the cs was hated , I remember, despite of them being actual rifles. CS is a cool game in terms of gameplay mechanics, but it kind of seems that the "Elites" of the game do not want others to play the game. Things like the auto snipers in cs are actually quite powerful and can be a menice , but you will be absolutely despised if you buy one.

I honestly think the main problem is the relation between the price range of the guns and the game mechanics itself. The classic is the prime example of what i believe is the main problem with the game. It's a free gun that shoots 3 bullets with 1 click, each bullet doing 78 damage as headshot. These are ridiculous stats, especially when you're the enemy investing 4500+ and then instantly dying by a free gun, with 1 click. I get the gunplay being the way it is, it's an element unique to valorant. However, i don't believe that the run and gun- and rope mechanics help the gunplay at all. It leads to ridiculous situations where you can die from situations that shouldn't be possible, and playing it off as it being 'part of the gameplay' when it's so unnecessary is just ignorant. Imo, they should be stricter to situations like running and gunning and rope shooting. It's come to a point where you aren't even surprised if a classic wins against a vandal close range just because everyone knows that only 2 of the 3 bullets of the classic right click is everything needed to completely delete everything the enemy invested into that one round.

This is why CS will always be better. it doesn't reward rats, it's all gunplay with no ability crutches, and there is no pre-round setup. Can't wait for CS2 to make the game pop off even more, and show that it is definitely the best precision shooter around. (Also, Master Guardian in cs is the equivalent of an immo in Val hands down)

The game already has built in wall hax, paper walls (no point in hiding if you're scanned), and still has the audacity to make a classic 1 click somebody with full armor.
