The thing I heard the most from developers is that car manufacturers tend to have long lists of rules for their cars to be in the game which tends to be a headache to deal with (like, one manufacturer may ask not to display a single glimpse of damage on their vehicles in the game for instance, or in the case of ferrari where they tell developers not to allow any sort of modification on their vehicles in the games) Some don't like their cars being shown while chased by the police, that's why racing games with large car lists (300+ cars) like The Crew 2 or Forza Horizon do not have police chases in them while games with smaller car lists (less than 150 cars) like Need for Speed have them with limited number of existing manufacturers

Meanwhile, those same cars are in racing/action movies. Overall, I don't care which car can't be shown being chased by police or can't be full of third-party modifications. Some car companies are huge Karens when it comes to video games.

It’s so weird because GTA is one of the most popular games ever made. Wouldn’t they want their brand and use that to the advantage of that there car is in the most popular games in the world?? Still played by millions of people 10 years later??

@@tylercouture216 it's the opposite actually, Porsche is the only big name manufacturer that appeared in very violent and gory games like Cyberpunk, sure there's Ford and Lincoln in Alan Wake for instance but that isn't quite as controversial

Like they will allow them to be in game but it may come with stipulations like showing it be damaged or losing by a huge margin or not being able to hang with other cars in its class even if the other brand is slightly better. But not many are better then Porsche

Well the fact that a lot of brands wouldn't like to associate themselves with GTA because of everything else that happens in GTA with or using the cars. Also I actually like that they don't license. Allows them to have that childish humour and satire in every single corner of the game like they have had. Who doesn't love Pfisters instead of Porsches?

Imo that's the biggest advertisement they could ever have, they just fail to realize that their car being damaged in game or being chased by the police doesn't take anything away from them. But I still want Rockstar to keep it the way it is and deny any sponsorships, cuz screw them, they don't deserve it.

@@DanielSilva-fy6bo these companies are definitely out of touch, but I also understand from a business stand point why Rockstar will never ever do it. These are licenses that expire. Forza regularly suffers from delisting of vehicles or the entirety of the game because of licenses expiring. Rockstar won't let that happen. But I do wonder sometimes if Rockstar would ever end up doing product placement in-game, like Yakuza.

@mow it depends on how high definition and the damage models goes the same we get less and less explicit content in media with the capabilities of "high definition" crime, gore, sex ect that's why censorship is so rampant now

Actually I much prefer the fictional manufacturers. This way it's much more interesting and the designers are very good. It also keeps me very excited for the next GTAO updates

Seems like major cope. Not having real vehicles destroys the connection you have to the vehicles. Also, it can be hard to distinguish between vehicles as they all just blend together without proper groupings.

Who is this guy?... Dan was the MAIN CREATIVE of R*, the main writer of the scripts, the main writer of the radio with Lazlow, the main writer of the internet of GTA 4/5 (have you seen how many pages and text are there? It's absolutely AMAZING! I have not seen more elaborate satire in my life) with Lazlow, the main writer of the tv, the commercials, the dialogue of the NPCs with Lazlow, the main writer of the entire satire with Laz. It's amazing how Dan is referred to as if he was just co-founder or CEO, not to mention that he's been the one with Lazlow who has given character to all of R*'s games. Dan Houser was R*'s biggest creative - before creative than CEO or co-founder. The work done by Dan on each of his games and the passion you see there is more than can be said for Kojima and other overrated creatives - I'd like to see Tarantino do such a mammoth job of writing and directing. Go check out the credits of R*'s games, manuals and recent interviews of Lazlow to know who has done what, please, in one of which he talks about how he and Dan had fun writing all that I mentioned in his flat drinking beers and smoking and emphasizing the great work that there is only on the internet of GTA 4, something that is not written in a day. And now the question about GTA 6: Who will be in charge of doing what Dan and Laz did with all the passion, grace, good vibes and talent in the world, these two individuals being old school people who know very well what they criticize and with their experience and artistic and executive careers? The saddest thing about all this is that you find videos on YT of CEOs or R* people talking about the company and its games as if these people, beyond their office and executive functions, were involved in the games on a creative level, when they are not even going to write the dialogues of the NPCs or the sms that the character receives on the mobile, I mean... who is this guy who takes credit for a real creative like Dan and Laz?

This is Right cause you can see the example of FIFA Game by EA Now the game is Called FC Because EA dint want ot pay the high Licensing price of that fedration And that's just a Game name if GTA had all cars like BMW, Audi , etc they all will have their own price for licencing and on later stages if both parties came to a disagreement then we would have huge ingame changes that could lead to loss of time and money on the developer side.
