I know you are right for most casses but showing it on high end motherboard for latest intel is a bad example because 13th gen and 14th gen i9 will work but will majorly underperform with only one 8 pin connected since thoose cpu have no problem drawing over 300w with spikes over 350w so i am sure it wouldnt boost properly or just crashed.but on other hand you could say that is extreme overclocking but by intel them self

I have Asus ROG STRIX B550-E GAMING with 5800x and when I plug in both cables the motherboard won't boot, it lights up yellow dios which means there is an issue with the motherboard, but when I plug in only one cable it boots normally.

May be a PSU issue.

@@skybuilder23 Brand new PSU, but don't have another one to test and it wasn't cheap.

Good to know. I just bought an msi mobo and a video on updating bios made by msi said plug in the 24 pin and 1 eps connector to connector #1. Connector #2 did not need to be populated. Cpu and ram not neccessary either for bios update.

With my Z87 motherboard with an i5-4690K I only used one 8-pin even though the board had room for two.

If you arent overclocking you dont really need the second one.

He physically could not pull all that wattage into an i5-4690k to saturate even one 8pin. Even with liquid nitrogen cooling

@@fmnfb9 That's the point of this video and my comment.

@@oldmanonyoutube Yes I was just replying to the clown saying "if you aren't overclocking". I am expanding the discussion past the video. You could try to overclock this cpu as much as it can take before it burns out and you would still only need 1 pin.
