I had a cat stolen off my Tacoma and didn’t replace it because i felt it could happen again and didn’t want to lose throw $1800 down the drain. Car manufacturers should really start considering placing a anti theft device on cats to prevent this, some type of mechanism that prevents a cat from being removed unless the owner enables it

they already have the sawzall in their hands... they can easily zip off the mounting tabs for the shield. unless ofcourse, they want the shield to resell.. lol

@@TRDJon hahaha! Unfortunately it's Canada, so we can barely have water pistols... And even if we could carry 9mm, I'd have to watch my vehicle 24-7. Seriously though, there's nothing I can do?

But stealing is ilegal I thought??? Oh how dumb things are. For the caps I'm not sure. Maybe glue them? You can try wheel locks as well for your wheels so that would hopefully deter a thief.

Yeah they've already been removing these in CA... doesn't stop them. "Easy to put on" means "easy to take off" Plus, they come up on a cat shield to sell.

Drill out the bolts and sell the cat guard to another Tundra owner... I understand it's a deterrent, but one obvious flaw I see as I try to figure out how to theft proof my replacements if I put my rig back on the road.. my two, 02 sensors were hacked out...

I dont think you can. Taco Tunes is cool cuz it is a skid as welll. But for me I'd choose the Calie Raised for this truck

Out here in Cali the thieves are so brazen they'll just take the extra minute or two to cut these off. They don't care because there are no consequences for their bad behavior.

I installed in my 22 tundra. The passenger side rattles a little bit. Driver side is fine. Does anyone else have a problem with passenger side rattling?

With Cats being stolen more often these or similar concepts are an easy decision to make a thiefs life harder. At very least it will force them to spend more time and make more noise.

Thieves wont be interested in a Tundra with an engine recall. Diminished value and loss of a loyal customer base. I would not touch a 3rd Gen Tundra.

My unit has 25,545 on it with no issues. When there are issues, Toyota addresses them like no other company.

@@TRDJon just following the brand disappointment and complaints. I have owned several tundras over the years prior to the and 💯 reliable. Toyota has a long way to go before I consider a new Tundra ever again. They missed it by a country mile on the 3 gen release. The used market is full of 3 gens just approaching their 3yr/36 month factory warranty. That says it all, owners are dumping these trucks so they don’t get stuck.
