"The only difference is that I'm sitting here taking the time to talk to a camera." That's the choice that matters. At least to me. I have the gear. I have the ability. I'm even lucky enough to take photography trips conducive to this type of content. Heck, we've shot at some of the exact same locations. I've said, "This trip I'm going to start." then, didn't. No one is stopping me, except me. Doing trumps everything else and I am proud of you for being humble and transparent while doing so.

Morning Alex, I don’t think I’d ever seen that earlier video, perhaps it was prior to my discovering your channel. Photos (and now videos) are a means of refreshing our memories. I know every time I look at any of my shots from the past twelve years my mind goes right back to the location, details etc. It’s amazing what a little visual aid can do for the mind… As someone else mentioned classes would be an excellent source of income. One on one or small groups, you’d just have to know where you’re going to be in advance to schedule things… I mentioned a trip to Alaska to my wife the other day, her response was “it’s too cold”. She suffers with arthritis so I can fully understand the pain cold weather would invoke. She said I could go to Alaska myself but too cold for her. Perhaps you could add in some of the weather statistics for the locations you visit, nothing super detailed just basic stuff… Really loving this new format, it’s like a mini vacation from my recliner. Stay safe

Most of the places in the summer are plenty warm. It's cool here in this area though. But it's 50-75 in a lot of spots!

Alex. I’m glad you’ve been able to take the opportunity to enjoy some time doing something that you obviously enjoy. I, for one, am glad that there’s humans out there with all their ups and downs and not just collections of pretty images. Enjoying the “daily” updates enormously.

Hey Alex, love your channel. The fish are more than likely salmon that are getting ready to leave the salt water to go up stream and spawn. Stay happy and healthy!

Keep at it mate. You keep popping up in the yt feed and your honesty and personality is really coming across. Great to be able to see your trip. Edit: I would like to see more photos. Even your failures and what you learned from them. I think you must have taken way more than you showed us. I don't care if they aren't great shots I think it helps journal your story... And that's why we are watching.

I don't take that many photos honestly. Unless you're saying you want to see the 7 versions of a shot before I pick a composition I like?

The shot you were talking through at the midpoint of the video worked out really well (thinking of the one right at 9:35 in particular). The verdant marshy grasses gives all the white / gray / black in the mountains and clouds an unexpected counterpoint. Maybe there isn’t really any motion or direction between foreground and background, but that’s ok, imo. The colors make up for it.

I think the fish are jumping out because they're catching flies flying above the water. Just my guess though. Thanks for your videos, they are great and really inspiring.

I really look forward to these videos every evening. The landscape you are travelling through is the complete opposite to where I live, so it is so great to live vicariously through you. I am so glad you are enjoying life right now as you really deserve happiness and joy. You are such a lovely person! If ever you want to explore Australia one day, hit me up, I can show you around! 😊

Have you considered photography lessons? For example, if you were a teacher on Patreon or SkillShare, your patron(s) can meet you in a location and take photography lessons. If you are ever in Maine, I would gladly pay for an hour photography lesson on site using my camera. As you set up your shot, I set up my shot and talk about why the shot is being set up with those particular settings. Watching, talking, and learning from you as you take your shots. SkillShare is great. You could turn your videos into lessons with extensions about the details of your shots. I just bought a Nikon Z5 because I want to be a serious hobbyist. Photography, decent photography, is NOT easy!!! Just an idea to possibly add to your income.
