We judge what is sin, and we do that by reading scripture and learning Gods will. We are to hate the sin, but love the sinner. When we tell them about sin, we are informing them of what God said. It's up to them what they will do with that information.
@JiraiyaSama866 ай бұрын
You can't love without judging. So if someone tells you to not judge them, it effectively also means to bugger off and don't love them. Because love has been cut off when we adhere to not judging. And yes, not all judgments are for love or out of love. Suppose that is what they want. For the person to not love them. Why? Who are they to tell the person that they're not allowed love them? Or who to love?
@LookinUp_9 күн бұрын
We aren't to judge the person, we are to discern sin. That's the difference. And we are to love them always, even when they are sinning. Because that is how Jesus loves us.

i'm a believer, but i just want to do some quick out loud thinking here. if there is an objective standard that comes from some outside force, like God, that universally people have written in their hearts, you would think the vast majority of people would agree on most moral matters even with sinfulness, right? the vast majority of people agree murder is wrong, theft is wrong, adultery is wrong, so why is it that we wouldn't argue over those things and yet there is plenty of discourse over LGBT matters? why is it that there is a very large portion of our world that believes the LGBT movement is correct in many of it's facets if everyone should have a moral law stamped on our hearts that says it's wrong? i suppose it's partly because of the pleasure, sinful or not, that people get from things of a sexual nature, even though we know that many things that are pleasurable are also still sinful and/or harmful to us, like smoking cigarettes, which may give you a buzz but also cause damage to your lungs which is a very tangible danger
@tomroyal61676 ай бұрын
Because it is an evil world. Do you believe majority should rule? The Bible says the road to Heaven is narrow and few there are that find it. The road to Hell is wide and many thereof will go down that path. Matthew 7:13-14. Also John 14:6.

@@hhh-et2vi - Respectfully, I think you misunderstood Frank. Objective morality requires a standard to compare thoughts and actions to in order to determine whether they're moral or not. Basically, if we all agree there are absolute moral laws we should follow/obey, those laws must come from somewhere. Laws need a law-giver. He isn't saying objective morality is "God-given" to us (I've personally never heard anyone say that), but that God is the objective standard for what is/isn't good. If something aligns with the U.S. Constitution, it's legal/constitutional, and if it doesn't, it isn't. If something aligns with God, it's good/moral (since He's the source of goodness/morality) and if it's unlike God, it's evil. This is why plenty of people call all sorts of things "good" based on their opinions, yet we can easily see the negative results from them. Without an objective standard, then all moral claims are subjective; merely opinions or a trick of evolution to make us *think* actions and thoughts are moral or immoral, when, on that view, they're really meaningless.
