You can't love someone else until you love yourself. Even though the quote is true in most cases, sometimes being able to love in general is what you need to begin to love yourself. That's what I found out. Loving someone without loving yourself is very hard but sometimes it's actually easier to love someone else rather than love yourself and what happens is as the relationship keeps going, it stars to break through all the negativeness to a point where you begin to actually like yourself. All I can say is people care for you even though you might think otherwise, you might think you'll never find someone but you will some day, you might think happiness is impossible to achieve but it's never Impossible. That's what I found out and I know that you will too some day.

Yeah its been potrayed as if being single is a problem and its absolutely not. Being single gives you an advantage to grow your ownself without anybody's involvement. Cuz if you are in a relationship there has to be mutual agreement on all the things. And its our societal culture that people often undervalue who is single and value couples who potrays that they are happy in public but they are the ones who secretly fight all day long. Bcuz of media and oversexualized culture, people tend to feel left out and they don't like being single so that creates an immense need for a person to get into a relationship.

Not only that, but I get the implication that they made this video out of the perspective that someone was traumatized or came from a very negative relationship. I, myself, am in the process of being divorced, but my wife and I agreed to it mutually and left on good terms. To this very day, we keep in contact and constantly vocalize our intent to support each other's happiness together as lifelong friends. no i feel the exact same way. all my life i have never been viewed in a romantic way or had any romantic interactions at all, and it hurts like hell. especially when you're a hopeless romantic. it hurts having to watch from afar as the people around me have romantic interactions and get in and out of relationships like it's nothing. it's never been easy for me. and even tho im young, it has definitely had an impact on my self-esteem, especially considering i'm a poc, and it also sadly makes me feel like i am ready to settle for anything, even if i know i deserve better. i truly hope anyone else going through this right now knows that you are not alone. it took me a long time to realise that i am not the only one experiencing this, as crazy as it may seem.

I got the feeling that lack of self-love is often mistaken with having a realistic self-image. Not everyone is created equally and not everyone is equal and as someone who has a mental health problem I am very well aware of this. In a realistic self-image you know what you have to offer and what you don't have to offer to other people. As there is a disbalance between the offering and the lacking this for me is one of the reasons to stay single. It's not looking down on the self, it goes beyond that - it's the realisation that other people have more to offer those potential partners. To anyone who also has a mental health problem: this is an important life-lesson to know to prevent wrong expectations in the self and to prevent disappointment in the partner.

I’m a 24 year old guy and I never had a girlfriend, first kiss, sex, or any girl that showed genuine interest in me. I think my problem is that I’m a pessimistic person and after witnessing so many break ups and hearing how guys around my age are struggling in dating, I became reluctant into putting myself into the dating world. Not to mention I have trust issues and I’m starting to develop a cynical attitude towards love and human companionship. All I know is that everyone is out for themselves and everyone is two faced so I never trust whatever they tell me is genuine. Even then when they show me their true selves, I always end up not liking it anyways. In summary, I guess my problem is that I’m cynical, have trust issues, and have high standards. Yet, part of me still yearns to be in a relationship. I’m still trying to figure out what love means and if it’s even possible. The whole concept of it is a mystery to me at this point.

Man. This video makes me question stuff, because for a while I've known I don't fit into any of these mentioned here. I have worked on my self image and feel good with myself, I trust other people and know I'll keep a big part of my independence. My "unresolved past trauma" is .. kinda resolved now, but I think the issue is that it left me with very poor social skills. I have never flirted seriously in person, and I think I'm too clueless to know when someone is flirting with me (if they ever have done so). I don't know how to approach new people, so i think the issue kinda lies there

I love being single. You can focus on yourself with no one around to bother you, little to no drama, you can do whatever you want whenever you want, and many other benefits I don’t feel like typing.

I'm trans. Have adhd. Childhood trauma. In my late 20s. At this point I'm probably just too much for any girl. I think girls have this sense that I'm not even worth the trouble. As much as I enjoy platonic relationships it would be nice to feel like I can be intimate with someone who more or less have had a similar upbringing. But, she either saw me and didn't like it or she just doesn't exist. Sometimes I think of leaving this world in a few years so I don't burden my friends with my loneliness anymore. What's the point of going on if you're gonna spend it alone you know?

It sounds like you have been through alot. Please remember that you hurt those around you more if you decide to leave💔, it hurts my heart hearing that even and I don't know you. You sound like you have had to be strong at times when it's been hard, I know that feeling. Don't ever give up and please love yourself because YOU ARE STRONG!

I’m in my mid 30s now, still alone, and I can tell you there is still point going on. I’ve got nice colleagues, my work gets appreciated, I have a hobby that I share with other people in the world and I recently became uncle. There are so many other things in life besides a relationship that are worth living for.

Shocking fact: In the end, we're all alone. So enjoy the time you have with your friends. And try to appreciate the fact that you have friends. Not all people have friends. If people don't like you, they don't deserve you. Not the other way around. Find beauty in little things like in your heart that beats for you every day since you were born, in the bird outside your window with its own little life and dangers you'd never have to face, in being able to breath in the crisp air in the morning and seeing the world come alive once more. The moment you truly feel these things, is the moment you feel alive. Not all day every day, but every day. To quote Dumbledore: Happiness can be found, in even the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light. 💝

This is so true! I set my standards so high! I have a friend that liked me for 3 years i guess? He treated me so good, and he's so kind and smart, I quite started to like him, but he's below my standard, he's not cat eye, so tall, or that super handsome type, so i ignored him unti now
