As a broken young man that’s getting baptized into the church in a few months, I can agree with most of what you say. Was a Baptist for my whole life. Parents are “Christian” but never active church goers. Always felt a void in my relationship with Christ. After finding out about Orthodoxy on the internet, and attending a liturgy at my local parish I knew I was home. Drugs, alcohol, sex, and the world never left me fulfilled. Orthodoxy, the tradition, the history, the foundation it set for me has done my life so much good.

As a nondenominational low church Protestant, I was enamored by the writings of many early Fathers such as Athanasius, Basil, John of Damascus, etc. Then to find out that Church still exists today started a long (still ongoing) journey to that truth. Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me the sinner.

Orthodoxy has given me, as a young man, true drive to fix my life, and something to aspire to, its even affected my own father who is not orthodox (yet! As he has expressed a keen interest) to be a much greater man (the more detailed view of St. Joseph the Betrothed that we have has inspired him)

Our traditional Latin Mass community has no seats in the pews. We have 3 masses on Sunday completely full of young families. It’s beautiful.
