My prayers have been for community with God fearing people the last 14 1/2 years. Still waiting and yes, been involved in church and volunteering but nothing. Now my prayers are for my grown children to be drawn to Him for salvation. Not sure why I must do this walk all alone but I’ve been so lonely and I pray for His Will and ask for forgiveness when I break down and cry that I need church family.

I think we've all been fed religion tok much, we need to read our Bible study the cross verses and see what it says. We are all human, but God's word has the final say, and if God's word says He doesn't hear certain prayers because of motives, then no amount of declaring otherwise will change that. We are not the ultimate authority. Thank you Costi for saying the hard things and standing on it.

Most think that to have prayer answered means yes...that's not always the case. Sometimes it's yes, no or wait. They can also come wrapped in packages we don't recognize. Habakkuk's prayer: Habakkuk 1:2a...O LORD, how long shall I cry for help, and You not hear...God's answer: Habakkuk 1:6a...For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans (Babylonians), that bitter and hasty nation... This answer was not what he was expecting. This little book is a great example of unexpected answers to prayers and the sovereignty of God.

More often than not prayer should not be about getting an answer. It should be about communion with God and surrendering to him. Seeing it as a yes, no, maybe not now thing is limiting prayer to requests.

💯. Half my prayers aren't even questions or requests needing an answer. The gift of prayer for me is just being able to talk with God.. pouring out my heart, venting, praising. Although I guess I can say he does always "answer" but by answer I just mean he picks up the other end of the phone whenever I call. 😊
