Thank you for explaining the Holy Spirit! I have been confused and paralyzed in how to understand him biblically. I Was raised and practiced evangelical Christian. After listening to you and Justin Peters I have had my eyes opened but felt lost as to how to grow correctly in my faith. This has helped me tremendously!

Thank you for answering all of these questions. I have Christian friends on both sides of the charismatic spectrum and have to always check that beliefs fall in line with the Word. Sometimes there are hard conversations between us, and I can only pray for gentleness and discernment.

Fair enough on your answer to The Holy Spirit Baptism. I hope it's okay if I share my testimony, anyway: When I was a new believer; before any commitment to any doctrine, I was in my room and I remember being convicted of my sin to the point where I could no longer justify myself (while reading scripture). It was the first time I was exposed to the Holiness of God and saw myself in comparison. I literally had to submit to God and confess that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself, but to ask for Mercy from God and, if Jesus Wills, a sip of Living Water (which I’ve been asking Jesus for, as God lead me to in that period of seeking God). In a moment I started feeling a sensation from my belly, and then to speak. I began speaking and then speaking more and with a new tongue. It wasn’t any language I recognised but it was sure and fluent. It became very bold and authoritative. It was a result from what only felt like rivers of water flowing out of my belly. I felt what Was like fresh waters rushing through my body from my belly outward, and out of my mouth came tongues. Was it a different language I don’t know and the people around me didn’t say, but I don’t think it was. I also, simultaneously, could sense a deliverance of something unclean inside of me and around me (my home). Later on I remembered the scriptures, namely *John 7:38* “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” In my time of need, being humbled by the Holiness and Sovereignty of God, I believed Jesus and asked of Him what I needed and desired most. And He Baptised me in my room with the Holy Ghost (2021). I’m sorry to all believers who’ve been hurt by other believers who make the baptism in the Holy Spirit an abusive doctrine, and I pray for healing ❤ for you. But I cannot also deny my Lord and this testimony 🙏🏽 I will never forget this day. It was unlike any other and from then on I had no doubts that God is real and working. God bless you ❤

Beautiful testimony. I do'n't remember the exact day or hour, when Jesus revealed Himself to me, but I do know I received from that moment on the Holy Spirit, and eternal life, even though it took me awhile to understand it all, through the Scriptures. Believers need to stop looking for someone else to teach them; it's a personal relationship. Jesus is the Comforter and the Spirit of Truth (John 14:18).

Beautiful testimony! Sister, was it a one time experience or do you continue to speak in tongues? I am not a cessationist, but at the same time, I am cautious to 'gifts' because of the abuse and confusion and I desire earnestly to abide in the word of God. I do thank Costi as its true that nobody can say Gift of tongues is for all, but God gives it according to His will and purpose.

Thank you Pastor Costi for this teaching on the Holy Spirit! I grew up where He was just ignored. Didn’t want to be charismatic so the easiest for the church I grew up in was to not even teach about Him and his role in the God head! I’m now in my late 40’s and just starting to really learn and understand all of this. I’m thankful to God every day for men like you but as I’m sure you would age my own precious Pastors that preach the truth in season and out of season and reprove, rebuke and exhort the flock! ❤

I believe what is primarily absent within the charismatic movement, especially the part that has gone the farthest astray, is it's refusal to establish a school of sound doctrine, for they are almost entirely experience obsessed and hunger almost exclusively for emotional ecstacy with so very little word being provided. Their Bibles need to be opened beginning with Hebrews 6, with the notion of a foundation being provided.

Thank you, Costi! Your podcasts about the Holy Spirit were very informative. I totally appreciate you and your work. I still have questions about what people refer to as their personal prayer language, as they reference 1 Corinthians 14:14-19. What is the “tongue” that Paul prays in? Is it a known language or a supernatural speech, unknown to any man? I know trusted brothers and sisters in Christ that have spoken in tongues as they have told me of their experiences and/or I have heard their tongues. What am I to make of that? I want to get the matter settled. I do not speak in tongues. To be honest, it scares me a bit. But, I cannot deny what I have seen and heard. The most common answer from cessationists is that we cannot go by our experiences. I know that not all who claim to speak in tongues have the true gift. There are many fakers. But, is there a case to be made from Scripture for a move of the Holy Spirit that includes a supernatural language that edifies a believer? Please help!
@TheSandyrise Жыл бұрын
Yes.. I have the same question Costi!
@holygeneration7 Жыл бұрын
@bespiritfilled Costi just taught that speaking in tongues is no eveidence of the Holy Spirit. We know by Scriptures that we have the indwelt Holy Spirit as soon as we are born again/regenerated. On the very day of Pentecost, they were all heard speaking in there own languages the marvelous things of God. It was not "jibberish" it was all of the different regions of peoples that heard there own languages. It sounds to me like you are into the hyper faith movements that are the exact ones that have all of the false teachings. The undisciplined ones that the great apostle paul had to correct, the Corinthian Church.
@holygeneration7 Жыл бұрын
Whats "cessationists"? But go and read the main chapter in Acts I believe the second chapter on the day of pentecost. There were people from all regions that spoke different languages and they heard the disciples speaking in there own languages praising God and magnifying Him, thats paraphrased but please go study it and you will see that it was not "jibberish" but earthly languages.

When Jesus walked the earth as the Son of Man, all the fullness of the Father was in Him. Before, the Spirit of the Lord was only in the Temple in Jerusalem, (but then His Son became the Temple). Jesus had to go away so that the Father could share His very own Spirit (not another god's spirit, but the Father's own self - “... thine own self”... John 17:5) with the rest of us. How many times did Jesus refer to Himself in the third person, such as: “Son of Man, Him, He, His, etc? If you read the passages where He talked about the Comforter and the Spirit of Truth, you will come to know exactly, by name, who the Holy Spirit is (John 14:18). It only seems to be a secret from the trained seminarians and their professors. Apostle Paul named the Holy Spirit repeatedly: (2Cor 13:5)... Know ye not your own selves, *_how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?_* (Col 2:6) As ye have therefore *_received Christ Jesus the Lord,_* [so] walk ye in him: (Phil 1:19) For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, *_and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,_* After the Son Sacrificed Himself (for us), The Father - who is the only God and the Only Spirit, promised to glorify the Son into that Glory they shared together as Almighty God, and the Word of God, in everlasting (Acts 2:33; John 17:5)! *_If you are in Christ - HE IS IN YOU_* (not some nameless, distinctly different spirit god)! (John 14:21) … *_and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father,_* and I will love him, *_and will manifest myself to him._*
