I love the first Coriolis. Was one of the few rpgs i brought with me to the other side of the world, and i backed the new one. I'm planning a solo play of the new quick start rules on my channel soon(ish) Thanks for the video!

The first Coriolis was pretty dope. The lore and setting is great. It had some of the best team based space combat i’ve seen.

The Coriolis "Atlas Compendium" is an excellent addition with a lot of setting specific random generator tables. Much needed sandbox content, probably should've been included in the core book.

It is a FANTASTIC system and setting! Personally, I've played Coriolis (1st rule set) and found the lore a bit theme constricting, also wasn't a huge fan of some of the ways stats are implemented. Decidedly a piece of work to model our own works after. Amazingly well done lore and continuity. Have not looked at the 2e quickstart yet. Just knew 1e wasn't for me, but I'll give 2 a look.

Great video! It resparked my interest for Coriolis that I own but never played. On a very similar theme, I was also a big fan of Fading Suns back in the day - though I don’t like much what they did in terms of mechanics with the latest edition. About The Great Dark, everyone seems to label it as Coriolis v2 but isn’t it more of a separate, very different game? I skimmed through the Kickstarter text and it looks like the game premise, geographical setting, character classes are all different… It looks like a space exploration and adventure RPG with none of the political intrigue, religious aspect etc. from the first edition.

@@amanisalone I have to say, the visceral hatred I had for them made me really re-think whether I was more Jedi or Sith philosophically. Like I didn't want to eradicate the Gungans anywhere near as badly as I wanted totaly Vong annihilation. Maybe I need to talk to someone.

The Star Wars franchise is getting close to 50 years old. Hollywood eventually rehashes and remakes everything- for good or bad. The movies, books and memories from your childhood aren't GONE. You've experienced them and unless you get mind-wiped, they'll never go away and no one can take that from you. There is still fantastic story-telling being made and Coriolis is a prime example. Dive in and enjoy!

Infinity the miniatures game has similar lore, travelling to other planets to colonise, etc. With conflicts between factions. Ariadna has Caledonian - Scottish faction. Merovingian - French faction. US faction. Tartary faction. Kosmoflot - faction. Haqqislam - Middle Eastern faction. The Aleph's sectorial sub faction Steel Phalanx, a Greek style faction. Alien races & Wolves etc.

Love this game! Lot's of lore, lots of factions, lots of systems/planets, but suggest starting small and adding lore over time and just have fun.

My friend has been begging me to run this and I think we'll probably start playing in May. It's a terrific setting. I think it came out before Free League really started picking up steam in terms of popularity. If anything, Free League suffers from having too many cool games. Having the YZE across most of them helps people pick up a new one though.

Finishing up a campaign of Emissary Lost for Coriolis, can say it's a very good system with very good lore but the books do a poor job of being clear and concise and easy to read at times. Also I think I did a poor job of portraying the different factions/lore, which is a me problem lol

The game is great but they are free league's own world. This means that few people know about it. If you are not Swedish, it is very unlikely that you have heard of it. If you haven't been inside and searched for free league games.

The books are sold out, but the pdfs are available to purchase off their website. They also have foundry VTT plugins for purchase.

A lot of Free League's games are a slow-burn in terms of uptake and popularity. And Coriolis 1e is basically dead-ended now that 2e is out; FL has confirmed there will be no new supplements or reprints.

There will be an open license to create new content for Coriolis, though, so I don't think the game will be completely dead

Yeah. Mutant Year Zero, itself, is a prime example. It never got much attention until some people started checking out FL's older stuff after getting the newer titles like Forbidden Lands and Alien. Even then, it wasn't much. I was a bit surprised at the time, but it just shows how relatively few of us enjoy exploring a variety.

I'd argue that Star Wars lives on in The Mandelorian, the Clone Wars cartoons, Rebels, and the Bad Batch. The movies are disappointing. Coriolis is really good though.
