TP5 is a good player, but will be hard to replace. DR41 is industrious, and we saw that against LIV but he does not have that little extra flair to turn a defender or feint his way out of a press, before releasing a forward pass. If we are going to replace Partey, it would have to be a special player. I'd be considered crazy, but Zinchenko is the closest. Defensive, creative, has flair. A ready made stop-gap.

arsenal went into the '22-'23 season with two fit cdms; partey and elneny. soon after the summer window closed, elneny blew his acl and partey had to play every single game for arsenal. this is when partey was broken; when he got to the world cup, ghana were saying he could barely walk. arteta surely wanted to but couldn't give partey a break as there was no one else until the january window opened and jorginho was brought. arteta hasn't forgotten how good partey is or what led to his injuries. the idea of him ever being sold last summer was always nonsense by arsenal talking heads. by virtue of his age, arsenal should be looking for partey's long-term replacement. personally, i like pablo barrios for atletico madrid. at 21, he was brilliant for spain at the olympics. allow him to fight for partey's place. once he moves ahead of jorginho, release jorginho.

I never questioned if Thomas was a good enough player, it just looked like last season his injuries were taking a toll on him and they were. And the only reason I was open to selling him was simply because of the contract situation.
