I have really enjoyed seeing the shift from “workaholic” Taylor, to “doing what’s best for me” Taylor. Random question: I have wondered if you saw a major difference in income/Opportunities when you stopped doing your three days a week upload schedule or if it was basically the same? Obviously, you are doing great and can do all of the things you want to, I think it could just be really inspirational for people to see that cutting back and prioritizing your health and personal goals doesn’t have to make a detrimental effect on your livelihood. Or if there was a significant difference, how taking a financial setback was worth elevating your quality of life in the long run.

I love this question. I have several chronic illnesses, am on disability because I'm unable to work at all, and I still somehow struggle to realize/accept my own limits when it's those "simple" things like Taylor was saying in this video. I always end up paying for it afterwards, but I feel like after all these years of being used to living life a certain way ... It's difficult to accept when you're in a constant state of decline and seemingly not able to do anything without repercussions.

Something HUGE about Atlanta that makes me think of you is the access to medical specialists. I don’t live in Atlanta but in SC and have the make the hike for my doctors- they’re just the best and it’s worth the drive. You should seriously look into this, that plus the food scene makes me think of moving there too.

Honestly the hardest part about chronic pain is the frustration of feeling like something basic is something that you should be able to do but knowing that your body can't. It's extremely upsetting. Getting past that and accepting your limits is definitely one of the hardest things to do.

Very true! I’m going on 15 years with chronic pain and I still haven’t accepted my limitations completely. My brain wants to do so many things but some I know I can’t but I still try and get frustrated when I can’t finish. I used to be constantly on the go. I still want to be. It’s frustrating!

Atlantan here, and you nailed it in your assessment! The trees and the varied neighborhoods are my favorite things about living here, too. I think one reason it’s underrated is many people around the country have ideas about the South (understandable), so they can’t fathom how big, modern and cosmopolitan Atlanta is. I lived in Portland for 2 years, and people there were always shocked to hear Atlanta metro is bigger (like yeah, it’s 3x bigger 😅).

I live about 2 hours from Atlanta. Yes the traffic is terrible around the interstates and in some of the downtown areas, especially if there is construction. It’s near a lot of great stuff. You’ve got the mountains, the lakes, rivers, a few hours to a beach. Helen GA is also near Atlanta and is a great place to visit around Christmas. As far as the leadership and political views in Georgia, I would say that new, fresh perspectives and open minded people will help it grow and move in a better direction.

I loved watching you explore Atlanta! I grew up in a suburb just north of Atlanta (Marietta) and then got out of dodge as soon as I turned 18 (went to New Orleans for college and then to San Francisco for grad school . . . and ended up staying in the Bay Area for 12 years). I moved back "home" to Atlanta in 2016 and I absolutely love it here. You hit some great neighborhoods (I lived in a little apartment in Inman Park for a couple years and it was perfect! Now I live in Ormewood/Grant Park). As for the political climate, I get the hesitation (moving from SF back to Georgia was a shock to the system) but there is so much incredible energy here. We all love Stacey Abrams, Raphael Warnock lives in my neighborhood (we saw him at our fave local restaurant with his kids a few weeks ago), and I really feel like our city is infused with the spirit of MLK Jr and John Lewis.

We are currently doing a year-long RV trip around the country so this was so nice to see and be reminded how beautiful our home city is. You are 100% right on the traffic, it's all relative and it's the worst when commuting from the 'burbs into the city. If you decide to look further into possibly living here, check out Boulevard Heights, it's close to the beltline, but still a bit of a hidden gem so it's affordable-ish, especially if you are looking for a house/yard instead of a condo. Also, so glad you went to the Civil Right Museum! I recommend it to everyone that visits.

We are even very active in the winter! We have some of the best chefs/restaurants in the country. Our art & theater districts are unreal- they are better than most outside on NY. We have a rich history with a variety of people/ cultures. I hope you will at least consider it. I would not stay right in downtown MPLS, but any of our suburbs are amazing! Charles Schultz was from here & we are very proud of the Snoopy connection. We have big statues of Snoopy, Peppermint Patty, Charlie Brown, Linus, etc. Plus- the Mall of America!

Taylor, if you haven't tried it yet, the Cover Girl Skin Milk is an AMAZING light coverage option. Nice sheer but buildable coverage and it looks so skinlike. I’m 45 and in my lifetime Atl has always been a melting pot of all ethnicities, cultures etc & a huge business city, local and international. I think it’s just pure ignorance and the history we are taught when ppl think of Atl and think of crime or black vs white bc it’s truly not like that. Of course you’ll have crime and ignorance in any city imo. Check out downtown Cherokee, Forsyth/ Roswell, Cobb, Lawrenceville they have great things too. Just FYI OTP is gonna suck😂. Welcome to Atlanta beautiful!

I’m so glad you like ATL. A couple of places I’d recommend going to next time are- the Westside section of the Beltline. There are awesome breweries and places to hang there. The other area is Buford Hwy- amazingly diverse cuisine

I’m so glad you enjoyed Atlanta! I was born, raised, and still live in the metro-Atlanta area. It’s so interesting to hear someone else’s impressions ☺️ If you do come back, and if you can make the trip, I would check out some of the suburban cities outside of the Perimeter. There’s good food to be found even outside I-285 😋 #peppermintpatty

You kept mentioning how green the city is, and that means MEGA POLLEN at times. Its no joke and can be a limiting factor for people with autoimmune issues.

Peppermint patty!! I started watching your videos because Jessica Braun always talks about you. I love your aesthetic and who you are. I moved from Florida to North Carolina - Raleigh area. I’ve really enjoyed it so far. Seeing your vlogs really makes me want to travel more

Atlanta is "a city in the forest" many people are thrown off with how green it is for a city. Love it here and I'm glad you loved it too 🙂 great vlog

I've been to Atlanta once for a family reunion. It didn't hurt that my cousin's had a really nice house, but I didn't want to leave there. Not to go back to Nebraska with the ice and snow every winter. I haven't even watched this video I'm just starting but I hope you liked it as much as I did.

I like the lighter brows. It softens the look. Very nice.

In the summer, an afternoon “pop up storm” is the norm. But they usually are really quick. Enjoy your stay in Atlanta!

I’m from GA and lived in Atlanta for about 8 years. I spent most of that time living in Midtown just a couple blocks away from Piedmont Park, The Vortex, The Fox Theatre, ect. It was one of my favorite places I’ve lived

Peppermint Patty! Love makeup and your channel! From Raleigh, short stint in Portland, brother in Seattle, and I live the beach life in Wilmington, NC. I stuck around to hear your take on Atlanta. Love the pleasant surprise!

I live in a county considered a suburb of Atlanta, but about an hour away. I have always hated Atlanta because I have a lot of anxiety driving. I even went to college in Decatur, a super cool woman's college. It was really cool to see Atlanta thru your eyes. It is very beautiful and I see why so many people love it. 🥰

My niece & her girlfriend are moving to Atlanta, from our home state of Kansas, in two months! I've always wanted to visit (I've only been in the airport), but now I'm even more excited to! Peppermint Patty!! 💚

As someone who lived in ATL for several years before returning to Chicago, I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed being there. Makes me think about taking a trip to visit down there again :) I'm also so glad you didn't have a bad traffic experience in ATL! I'm still haunted by how long it sometimes took me to go the 1 mile home from law school (upwards of 45 minutes ITP) if I got out during lunch or dinner time haha.

Atlanta is such a great city. It has a little bit of everything. I have 3 kids and we try to go to as many state parks as possible, and I love that Atlanta has the nature but also the cultural aspects to share with my kids! So much good history and beauty! We live just south of Atlanta and love living far enough outside of the city to be affordable but close enough to venture into it whenever!
