It hit me hard when u said that we choose our lives. It's not forced on us ..initially yes...but after a while... we choose it. Currently, i am in the transition phase of taking control of my life. The only thing i am struggling with is to count on my own abilities and get out of the dependency on others. I have been a people pleaser all my life, and I am paying a huge price for it.

Didn't date n school because frankly I was socially awkward around girls! Spent my 20s and 30s working lots of hours and going to concerts and ballgames solo or with guys I worked with. Had 2 close relationships in my 40 s and fifties but didn't really like domestic life with a partner. Still single at 63. Mostly because my income cannot support someone else. I don't feel comfortable living off savings that someone else has built for their retirement years. But I love being in charge of my days, and doing whatever my budget allows me to do.
