Ben Johnson wasn't my top choice but Colton saying Ben "did a Sean Payton" with Jared Goff moves him to the top of my list, for those that don't know, Sean Payton met Drew Brees after the Saints signed him from the Chargers, went over the playbook, discussed what Drew liked and was comfortable with and what he disliked and and wasn't comfortable with. I think we can all agree that was a good thing and their offensive results back it up.

Has he been a proven head coach with a track record of being the main person building culture, assembling a staff and attracting talent? Pretty sure the answer to every one of those is “No.” He is the next media darling OC. We’ve done this before. I don’t understand why everyone is leaning this way. He seems completely unproven at HC and far from a sure thing at HC in my opinion.
@abelincoln67855 сағат бұрын
That is what the media always ignores. No one digs into the details. Even the pros. The Bears need a head coach. Not one bit of proof he can do all the above. Not one iota.

If I were the Bears, I would try to save this season. There are players that you know exactly what you are going to get. They don't need the reps. Look down your bench and learn what you have. Play them against a team that wants to win. Don't wait till next camp to learn what you need and have. Start today. It's not helping Williams taking bad reps. He needs to sit. You're not going to fix anything in these games. Just get prepared to address those problems off-season. Win out, does nothing for the new team you plan on delivering next year. If there is anyone that thinks a run at the end of this season will help going into next season, they need to go. Again, it does nothing.

I think teams that either have an established qb or dont have their guy or even a young are the teams that need to hire coaches like vrabel, flores and glenn. Culture builders. Get that goin and create a situation conducive to a young qb or bringin in a vet to close the deal. If you have a young qb or bout to draft one, then you have to have a young offensive minded dude to work w them. And if you’re defensive you better have a slowik or a kingsberry w ya for the first few years before they bounce

Poles won't take a chance on a first year guy again and I have two Detroit Lions fans that tell me it's a big mistake to hire him as a head coach. He's creative with the Lions but he has their O-line and their players and the occasional brain lapse. He is NOT a head coach.

The only can’t miss candidate was Jim Harbaugh. He would’ve changed the organization around but there are personalities in ownership and GM positions that are bigger than the teams success. The way the players are looking these days, it seems that they don’t want to play for this organization either. Broken culture.
