Ben Simmons' time with the Nets has been plagued by injuries and unfulfilled potential. This season, he's only played a handful of games. Will he ever suit up for Brooklyn again? We discuss Simmons' back issues, the impact on the Nets, and what the future holds for this talented but troubled star.

The difference for Simmons and Dwight is that Dwight at least tried after getting hurt, Simmons doesn't try. His work ethic isn't there

We dont hate the guy. We wanna know how he hacked the NBA to get paid top money. In my book, he won. Took advantage of every team and got paid legally.

The Nets shouldn’t resign him. Period. If you ignore his multiple injuries, he’s not the type of player that will ever be your franchise player. He’s just not that guy. He’s an athletic role player but he has ugly weaknesses that you just can’t hide. Ask Embiid. Plus he’s a liar that lied about mental health when he was suffering from a strike to his ego. Unless he accepts a huge lower contract, the Nets should either move on or trade him for picks. There must be a team with a moron for a GM that would grab him.

It’s extremely to fucked to call him a faker about his mental health. That shit is none of your business and you we have no clue what goes on in his mind. Also it seems like the mental baggage of playing like shit in an important series, getting mocked by fans and getting thrown under the bus by his franchise player and coach was one of the things that got his anxiety to the level it did. Do you not see how someone who is already anxious would be affected by having all his mentions and all the talk about him be about the biggest failure of his career? I bet you’re just gonna say he’s “soft” or “weak” for that cause NBA fans rarely have the ability to show empathy and see the players as people.

@@emersonssbb I’m not defending everything he has said and done. I’m defending him on what he claimed about his mental health cause it’s nobody else’s business. I have significant mental health issues but I come off as a funny goofball to most people (which is my genuine personality). I would be really pissed if someone claimed I was lying about being depressed and anxious and having a feeling of dread almost every morning when I wake up.

Why don't the nets just buy him out? I mean he is done in the NBA. He will never be on the court constantly ever again. All this mental stuff is just an excuse to not play but he should as hell wants to get that paycheck. I think they should buy him out and he should get nothing because he gives nothing.

Hope he will bounce back! It's gonna take a lot of rehab, will, humility and luck. Ugly to see all the negativity in the media/fans. If he can dig out of this hole with everyone around him counting him out, it's going to be an awesome story. Reminds me a little of Exums case - getting cut, going to Europe, finding confidence, coming back and humbly working himself into a solid piece in Dallas now. I guess with the injuries, there is only so much he can do though.

These are 3 things I am looking forward for the upcoming season... 1. Ben Simmons will ever rise or the end of his NBA career - after this season he is a free agent. 2. Lonzo Ball will ever play again? 3. Sixers going deep in the play-offs or flame-out again at the 2nd round?

What I don’t understand is how you can detail Ben’s injury and how getting surgery is the extreme last resort option and in the same breath criticize him for not playing like it’s a choice. Only in sports do people get angry at someone for being hurt and speak about it like they’re stealing your money. You know who’s makes tens of millions of dollars for doing nothing? Franchise owners. James Dolan is a billionaire who’s profited more than any basketball player while being one of the worst team owners in sports

People are jealous.... Some people might never ever make 40M in their lifetime.... Ben did it in the bench while not even playing a full season of basketball.... Ben wins again.... Plus BNets are owned by a franchise leader that makes money if a company fails.... It's like a Steven Segal movie... Funded by dudes that makes money if the movie fails....

Ben Simmons is one of the greatest shooter and smartest of all time. He maintained his good field goal % throughout all his career by not taking many shots then he got instant big money just by being there and being allergic on the ball. 🫡
