i am 25 weeks pregnant and this will be my first baby. I have been watching your videos all afternoon and I have to say you are amazing. The way you explain things make so much sense. I feel like I have been plonked on a conveyer belt through out my pregnancy and I feel that I have no control. But your videos are inspiring and have made me realise that there is no reason to feel that I cannot be in control of my birth. Thank you so very much.

I already use my hypnobirthing breathing for doing a poo and it helps so much ugh pregnancy constipation! I’m loving these videos 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Love this! I seriously was like that the few times I was constipated! I was like 'if I cant poo how will I give birth?!' 😁😊 on a side note having a teaspoon of psyllium husk in glass of water daily solved the constipation problem for me. Veg and fruit are simply not enough during later pregnancy.

Watched this before giving birth and put it into practice during my labour. The pushing was not traumatic and am very pleased with it, gave birth in a birthing pool on my knees, and it did feel like having a massive poo! Great video xx

These videos are amazing. I wish I had these with my first child. I did an NHS hypnobirthing course but in 4 sessions I wasn't as educated as I have been just from these videos! Thank you! I'm not even pregnant but I've saved these videos for when I have my next.

My friends used to tell me horror stories and i used to be so scared when i was nearing term.. and then i came across hypnobirthing online and felt so fascinated n binge watching those and practising breathing techniques..n it went well.. i was so prepared mentally n happy when i started getting contractions… i gave strict instructions to my hubby n my in laws on what they were supposed to do.. no panicking at all!! Etc.. n u r so right, it felt like a massive poo..i m pregnant again! N ready to do it all over again n glad i found your channel.. because this time, i need the practical points.. i m already aware of the concept n stuff.. ur quick videos are an absolute delight to watch in between an otherwise crazy daily schedule:)

I’m 23 about to give birth to my first, I’ve always said I just don’t want to end up stuck on my back, I can’t imagine anything coming out in that position ! This video has been the most reassuring thing I have heard since we got pregnant, I’m so glad I found this channel

This makes so much sense! I gave birth to my first on my back as I had a epidural and it took 2.5 hours of pushing her out which resulted in a lot of blood loss. I’m currently 33 weeks with my second and hoping for a more positive in control birth this time round! Thank you for sharing

I focused on this during the pushing stage of my medication-free birth. The pushing stage lasted 30mins for me. I planned to push on hands and knees but ended up being attached to a belly monitor line and it was so awkward so I ended up pushing on my back with my husband holding one leg and one of the midwives the other. Had a great birth experience! But downside of birthing in that position is my husband wasn't prepared to be front and center of the action moment... he ended up full on passing out the minute baby girl popped out ;) LOL. I needed to call in my mom for my support person hahaha

I am week 38 and literally been thinking how on earth am I going to open up to a bunch of strangers. Not afraid of pain, but yet feels uncomfortable to be exposed at such a level. Especially if doesn't come naturally. This video sums up everything and I thought it's only me being a little bit shy. Thank you so much 🤗!

I remember my midwife asking ng me how I felt and I told her I really needed to poo, she didn't go on about " oh, that's just the baby's head", instead she directed me to go to the toilet and relieve my self, and sure enough I did have to poo, my body released it and all that pressure I felt on my back was because of the need to make a bowl movement. My midwife said that it is better to listen to the mom and by what she is feeling, not all the time is it going to be the baby's head that is giving you the sense of having the need to poo, your body will naturally kick in to clear you out to get you ready for baby. This was with my second baby in a self standing birthing center, my first was in a hospital and was horrible.

I wish i'd seen videos like this before birthing my first, 8 years ago. The midwife put me on my back, despite it making the pain worse, the room was very bright, i was completely nude for HOURS, at her request, despite me saying i had spare nighties that i didn't mind getting messy and i could take it off last minute anyway... I was definitely trapped in the fear-tension-pain cycle, which is why it took so long. I'm 29 weeks now with my second child and after initially feeling terrified of giving birth again, i am now feeling much more positive about this birth after signing up to a doula-led antenatal class, and having seen a really AMAZING birth video last night, and getting so much more instruction from videos like this than i ever did from the midwives last time around.

Amazing! I agree! TMI alert but I actually was constipated on a 4-day bushwalk. In the end, I couldn't force it out and just had to wait for my body to do its thing and instinctually squatted when it was finally ready. My poo came slowly, it was the longest and the worst I ever experienced. I was worried but my body knew how to push. The only thing that made it challenging was watching my surroundings on the side of this hill in case someone came. I actually think someone did walk by. By then it was too late to cover up. I was pushing hard, and they must've walked away to give me privacy once they looked up and saw, yeah, everything lol. I could have breathed with my body but instead I tried to push as quickly as I could. It made passing the poo slower. Would not recommend that! I guess when push comes to shove, just gotta do what we know.

Fantastic videos. Thank you for making them. I think this analogy is probably why I felt like I failed with my first birth. I was overdue (41+) weeks. Booked in for an induction without given any information about it. I had a whole week of internal examinations/pessaries and didn’t dilate at all!! Ended up with an ‘emergency section.’ I felt like I’d completely failed as I’d attended an nhs active birth course so wanted a water birth, felt like it was really realistic etc. I felt so disappointed that it didn’t happen. On my second pregnancy now and feel so scared I will lose the control of the situation again. xx

This spoke to me so much!! My first pregnancy I was induced at 39 weeks, due to preeclampsia. I was ushered to a room, hospital bed, no blinds on the windows, strapped to monitors and was basically observed for nearly 48 hours, by various nurses. No access to a bath or shower. I barely reached 2 cm. I was told to stop getting up constantly. I ended up getting the epidural, fully dilated within hours after that. I too felt like a failure for having taken the epidural...I'd wanted a natural birthing experience, not in a hospital as they give me the willies. I obviously gave birth lying on my back, as I could no longer feel my legs and was told to push at every contraction the monitor picked up. I am also currently on my second pregnancy, actually 40 weeks tomorrow, and am scared of being induced again; this time for going over. I am planning a home birth. Fingers crossed that all goes well this time, for both of us. HUGS!!

This is why I don't want an epidural. The last thing I want is to be stuck lying on my back. Also, I have a fear of needles, needles near my spine, and (thanks to claustrophobia) a fear of not being able to move; That's just too much fear for my liking.

During my second birth it went so incredibly fast, I was getting induced so I thought I was in for a long day but two hours after they started the hormones my water broke. I looked at my mom and partner and I said I’m going home and taking a poo right now. My mom just looked at me with that look in her eyes that told me I was being ridiculous and then I went and push the baby out instead of trying to walk out the door.
