My problems with it is how they took away T’challa’s intelligence and give to shuri. T’challa IQ Level is up their with the likes of Tony Stark and Reed Richards. I also didn’t like how he needed help from others. Not saying he doesn’t need side characters but T’challa can handle things by him self in his own storylines most of the time.

Props to showing why the combat arena tradition doesn’t make sense without appealing to how technologically advanced Wakanda is. A lot of people seem to not get the idea that just because a society is technologically advanced, it doesn’t mean it can’t still have outdated traditions Technology only allows a society to do things that they previously couldn’t do. It’s not gonna significantly change the culture of that society. The only things that can do that the spreading of new ideas. Which I’ll admit, technically dose help in spreading

What’s funny is that Avengers EMH gave a similar arc to Black Panther in 1.3 episodes (the prologue was attached to a 3 in 1 story connected to Ant Man & Wasp), which has a few differences to this film that makes that version make more sense compared to this 2 hour film. The first major change was that T'Chaka was shown supporting the traditions of Trial by Combat, as he's shown willingly taking on Man Ape's challenge and proves he can hold the title himself by overpowering him in their duel. The only reason he loses is because Claw was hired to discreetly sabotage him with a concentrated screech (that was indicated nobody else could hear) thus allowing Man Ape to win the throne and exploit the Vibranium mines with organisations like HYDRA. This gives solid justification for why this law had yet to be abolished until this point in time while giving motive for T'Challa to want to take the throne back. The second major change is that T'Challa was scouting out help from the Avengers to aid him in retaking Wakanda unlike the film where it was internal, with the easy justification why it isn't immediate is because the Avengers have been around for a month at most when he formally gets their assistance. While it was later showcased that he was merely using them as a diversion to get to the throne, he does eventually see that collaborating with them gave more benefit to the Wakanda compared to acting independently, thanks to them stopping Sound (Claw getting powered up by Wakandan mines, because comics) from causing a crisis Wakanda couldn’t have stopped alone, which in turn encourages him to join them as full time members. This show even demonstrates that Wakandan security was able to get past the like of Stark's Cloaking devices, and easily took down a their Quinjet, giving a reason as to why almost nobody has broken into their territory without being snuck in like Claw. I'll admit that’s it's not perfect, as it did treat both Man Ape and Claw as one note antagonists who simply wished to exploit Wakanda for Power, along with it not being explained how T'Challa got from Wakanda to New York (disregarding that the Fantastic 4 were also a public team present at this time), but it’s still a pretty solid take for the episode that overshadows this film easily.

I have a serious love hate relationship with the first Black Panther where I kind of love and appreciate it for its cultural significance and certain themes and messages it sends but hate some of the execution, pacing, scenes that were deleted, and special effects/CGI along with the direction of the film. I have watched the film at least 6 or 7 times now and continue to watch clips of the film on KZbin ALL the time. I personally feel that Ryan Coogler should have had someone work extensively on improving the script a little bit to make T’Challa shine more and an assistant director to help him out because the action in this movie is some of the worst I have ever seen. If someone says this is their least favorite marvel movie I completely understand even though it ultimately hurts me when they say so, ….. which makes it that much more painful 😢. In all honesty the sequel is superior but the thing that pains me the most is that OG T’Challa isn’t in it and we will never see him again

I always figured that the reason T'Chaka held the throne when he got up in age, was because people (even M'Baku's tribe) respected/revered him too much to challenge him as an old man, so T'Chaka passed it down to T'Challa. We see the consideration and patience M'Baku had to reveal that T'Challa was still alive, instead of hastily taking the herb for himself. So it's quite likely this is the case...OR T'Challa was the only person that came to challenge T'Chaka, wanting to "earn" the throne the right way--like in many of the comics--and T'Chaka surrendered; however, T'Challa allowed his father to stay as the leader, due to his expertise and wisdom. The first reason is the most likely.

Your explaining all this while offering few alternative ideas to make an entertaining experience. Im not saying that the things you are saying aren't true, as a lot of it is, but it's still a movie. So how do you recreate these scenes with all the realistic context you explained in so much detail and still create an entertaining experience and story? That's why a logical film isn't necessarily a good one, as some suspension of disbelief is required. And while i do believe there is a certain limit to that suspension of disbelief, you haven't offered enough explanation as to how they could bridge that gap. I mean no disrespect, but if you offer critique, also give good ideas about how to correct it as well. Because from my standpoint, this is just a rant.

Also his personality in civil war of being a cold blooded and ruthless character made a lot of fans be interested in him. You can even say Civil War was his actual origin. 20:00 I agree with most of your points except for this one. Killmonger competing for the throne isn’t the same as someone like Thanos contesting T’Challa. Yeah I get he is of royal blood. I probably could’ve explained this hypothetical better, but if someone like Thanos was of royal blood, regardless of their power or atrocities committed, they’d be allowed as a candidate for a king. On a world building level I don’t think that makes sense, and T’Challa would prioritize the safety of his country over giving Killmonger the chance to fight, especially since his crimes should make him a prisoner anyway, and physically fighting is only going to allow vengeance to consume him further.

You're picking apart the force field stuff, for what? they just added accurate storylines from the Comics, your argument is with Marvel. The comics always mentioned the illusion techniques of the Wakandan nation. However, All of the killmonger plot holes are valid though. He is a walking contradiction. Just there for eye ogling. the rest of you vid is pretty spot on. They only created the contrived misguided uncle in America storyline to validate MB Jordan's character's motivations.

Also. The avengers knew about wakanda. Steve, Natasha and Sam obviously knew because thats where they took Bucky. But it was said in a book I believe it was called the Wakanda files or something to that affect that Tony got some vibranium from them which is what he used in his mark 50 suit. Which if you remember was quite a big jump from his previous mark 45-47.

Regarding 11:34 I don't know if it would have been wise to try and use one of his ships here. It's kind of a large aircraft, so even if there was space to park it anywhere that is easily accessible in a hurry (like a parking lot building), which I doubt, I don't think they would have been able to conceal it effectively. Even if they use the cloaking functionality, there's still the risk of random people stumbling/driving into it and getting hurt or attracting attention. These ships are established to be absurdly advanced, so I'm sure they can circle an area completely on autopilot, but I doubt it would have been possible to land, pick T'Challa up mid-chase, start pursuing Klaue again, drop down and immobilize his car before he manages to escape. I think the smarter thing to do is to have the ship scanning overhead on autopilot to track Klaue and his goons to a point where they can safely ambush them without the risky car chase. Of course, this is less entertaining to audiences though.

Challenge Day creates a lot of issues if you stare at it long enough. But you have leave room for the movie to have it's own plot. There are a lot of African tribal elements in Black Panther that the movie wanted to channel. Is there an easier way to pick a leader? Sure. But the tradition dictated otherwise. I think there were years when T'Challa offered the challenge but no one accepted. If someone beat T'Challa then someone challenged the winner, then what? The point of the 1st challenge was to explain the rules and the system to the audience before Killmonger arrived. It also created an arc for M'baku. The killing of Zuri was ok b/c he interfered during the ritual combat--rules are rules. Now, the issue I do have is that T'Challa could have yielded/quit like M'Baku did and lived to fight/challenge Killmonger another day. Yielding prolly would've saved Zuri's life too since he only interfered b/c he thought KM was about to kill T'Challa. T'Challa taps out, and then if Killmonger killed him, then Okoye and the Doras could attack him and kill him immediately, especially since he didn't have the BP powers yet. To me, T'Challa chose "death" by not yielding when Killmonger picked him up in the air. He was presumed dead so the challenge was over. The greater good was more important than tradition; this was the takeaway. Now, as for T'Challa not healing KM, KM refused treatment. One of the most memorable lines that you may not be culturally aware to understand was when KM declared that death was preferable to slavery. He would rather die than be T'Challa's prisoner, death before dishonor. Think the scene in Amistad when the female slave fell overboard while holding a newborn baby that was born during the Middle Passage. Could she have survived the trip? Maybe. Could the baby? Highly unlikely. And what was the baby being born into? So in an act of self-determination, KM plunged the knife deeper and ended his life on his terms. A little cultural context might have view the movie in a different light. Please allow yourself room for this.

This is such a terrible video. This man said “they have a car stopping device, why not just use that instead of having the chase scene in Civil War”. That scene was one of the best in the entire movie dawg lol. It’s entertaining to watch that’s why he didn’t use it 😂 this is why you make KZbin videos and not movies. It’s a superhero action movie. I understand plot holes are an issue and if it ruins the story or adds contradictions it can be pointed out. But this guy is just yapping nonsense. It’s supposed to be nonsensical is certain ways, they shouldn’t always make the best decisions or else the plot wouldn’t exist lol. Characters are supposed to be flawed.

Another example Russuo Brothers adapting characters including their lore accurately while still making sense in overall context, than other directors and writers. In comics (I'm not sure now) the role of kingship and BP role are separate. The former is only reserved for those of Royal blood, latter any challenge for that position. That was hinted too in Civil War (2016). BP film combined both positions which led to unnecessary logical lapse's in writing.

As a Nigerian, the story is so... interesting? For a lot of reasons, for one, it's claims to be inspired by African cultures but doesn't even look at how African cultures have evolved over time till, its just like they slapped tidbits of things they found fun in African cultures and slapped it unto a "semi-fituristic" Africa just so they coulf feed African Americans craving for diversity which i know is important but let's be real, it did no service to the rest of the African diaspora and is really just surface level, like African cultures are really deeper than that but im not really surprised, I've noticed a decline in superhero (marvel/DC) movies world building in favour of flashy fights and cool superpowers. But asides that, it might just be racist, or at least a tribalistic eurocentric view of African cultures, like in wakanda (note: i only watched one black panther movie which was the one killmonger showed up and i lost interest but i did do a bit of online look on what was being said about the movie so i may be wrong so correct me if I'm wrong) but i did read about how each of the tribes have unique roles within keeping wakanda up and running i guess, and i know its helpful to simplify multi-ethnic regions with vast and diverse histories like African countries but it actually comes off distasteful when you realise it isnt far off from the hierarchical structures that were created by colonisers to encourage inter tribal conflicts and benefit them. The rwandan genocide literally has a factor of tribalism fueled by colonial power, same with the selection of WAFF soldiers in British colonised west Africa. Cause in reality a lot of African tribes held their autonomy as a single community not a part of a larger community, even in nigeria where im from, although we consider the term nigerian to be the amalgamation of all tribes, different regions are regarded with unique cultural autonomy that aren't in service to a greater state, I for example as an igbo, although Nigerian, wouldn't revere the ooni of ife, cause im not yoruba even though we are both Nigerian tribes but my culture and our way of life is distinct from theirs and wouldn't typically be of service to theirs. So in that same way, not only is black panther problematic, but its lazy world-building that hardly looks into the cultures its inspired from and can border on disrespectful just to score a few diversity points with African Americans who want to feel connected with their ancestry cause let's face it, asides African Americans or the west in general, that story isnt made for anyone else, talk less the African diaspora

I hate how they made T’challa a harmless friend towards outsiders (especially that scene with Ross when he put his hand on him) so they wouldn't feel threatened when comics T'challa doesn't play. He isn't second guessing his traditions or opening up Wakanda to the rest of the world and he isn't letting people in so easily. The guy is a no nonsense savage. He is not just an ally monarch from a neighbouring country. You better watch your manners and how you act when approaching Wakanda. You are at their mercy and thus don't need anything from you.
