There's ONE more strength of his in Melee that you didn't mention which is he has good edge guarding (because of his gigantic back air that hits below ledge that also semi-spikes fast fallers, his down angled forward tilt covering ledge well, doing grounded up b to grab ledge quickly, & his ledge attack being able hit behind him & launch the opponent behind him which is good for when someone just barely recovers while he's hanging on the ledge)

comparing melee characters and pm characters is such sick idea, shoutouts to me LOL good overview! would like if you covered some of the more niche things (up b oos, command grab combos, ledge stuff, etc) about the character though, but i know it's harder to cover that in a shorter video. hell it takes me like months to learn these melee characters on unranked lol.

5:59 Bowser's moves are not the reason he's so bad in Melee. A good amount of his moves actually have utility. Forward air is probably his best option in neutral due to it probably being his overall least laggy attack in his moveset while having decent range that hits a little bit above & below him, back air is a really good edge guarding move due to it's low launch angle & really big hitbox that can cover ledge, & side b is a command grab that can kill early or sometimes start combos. Those were just a few examples of what some of his moves can do.

bowser's fire breath is not bad as long as you don't think of it as a projectile. i forget which version has it but in one of them you can instant flame breath upon landing and when you catch someone in the corner with it it feels almost OP lol

I have been a Bowser player since day one and it was frustrating playing as him and still frustrating losing to top tier fighters. I was able to surprise some people when I was able to beat Shiek. Now it's not fun when I lose humiliatingly to many who spend all their life playing Melee.

Bowser vs Bad character including Kirby Zelda Ness Pichu Roy Mewtwo LETS BEGIN IN MATCHUPS Bowser vs kirby Kirby slightly wins due to his speed, air speed and approach is better, he is a good edgeguarder, he has a better recovery, he can chain grab, his light weight makes him hard to hit but easier to ko. Bowser I'd heavier, with stronger attacks, he has a better ko potential, heaviest character meaning he is still the most duarible character and his up B is a great out of shield option

Bowser vs zelda 50/50 Zelda has less lag kos, can chain grab, better recovery but Bowser is stronger, better ko, better survival and is faster (Bowser speed is 1.14 in melee and Zelda speed is 1.12 in melee, slowest with jigglypuff.)

Bowser vs pichu 50/50 Pichu has les laggy attack, a much better recovery, can ruin Bowser recovery, and fast (pichu speed is 1.74 in melee, the 5th fastest character) Bowser has better range, survival, ko, damage but pichu lacks ko and Bowser lacks defence options and a large enemy to hit.

The Rason why a slow character is a deep flaw is becuase Your combos are worse Your retreat is worse Your Offence can be worse because of your slow speed You pack approach options You have a very bad recovery (Super slow air speed, Very poor acceleration plus 2 foot tall of jumping, 4 in total and frame 8 jump is just terrible) Makes it hard for you to go against low high or very high teir characters. Characters that are slow Zelda Jigglypuff Bowser Ganondorf Link Falco Luigi Falco Peach Dk (Because bowser has the 3rd slowest dash speed, 1.12 if Dk is slightly faster than hes slow, hes on of the fastest heavy weight characters but hes below average.
