Tanya, I'm truly delighted to see you healthy and smiling again. Please take good care of yourself, we absolutely need you! Thank you for such a detailed and unexpectedly philosophical masterclass on the art of dishwashing! And, of course, thanks for the unanticipated insight about "hit it off" being all about romance. To combine your lessons into one grand scientific theory, I’ll now think of you every time I see a plate full of suds. :) Nevertheless, as a true man with a persistent and tenacious nature, and a curious mind of an explorer, I simply cannot leave this "hit it off" idiom alone. Despite you calling my previous attempt a bit "awkward" and advising me not to use "hit it off" twice in one sentence, I’ve boldly defied fate and crafted two more examples of double use of "hit it off" to demonstrate the wit and heart of a real man: Example 1: I went to a baseball game hoping to hit it off with the team, but instead I hit it off with a hot dog vendor, and now we're planning our next date. Turns out, I’m much better at hitting it off in romance than on the field! Example 2: This one’s about you and me. I just thought of it, inspired by your tea. "Tanya, I thought we'd hit it off during our English lessons, but then I hit it off with your tea advice instead! Now every time I see a steaming cup, I think, 'Maybe this is my chance to finally hit it off with Tanya’s wisdom on how not to burn my tongue!'"

You are definitely demonstrating your persistence! Example 1 is great! You did it! You got the idiom into a sentence not twice but 3 times! Example 2 needs some work. It doesn't really work. Keep being your persistent self!

@@EnglishCoach3Ts What about this: "Tanya, I thought we'd hit it off during our English lessons, but it turns out it was your tea advice that really hit the spot! Now, every time I see a steaming cup, I wonder, 'Is this my chance to finally hit it off with Tanya’s wisdom and master the art of not burning my tongue?'"

@@EnglishCoach3Ts Example 2 doesn’t quite work with Tanya, but it definitely works in my life since I only drink cold, pure spring water. My tongue feels perfectly safe (as long as I don’t accidentally bite it, of course).😄

Hi Tanya. What about a book to prepare a TOEFL exmam. It's very difficult, with all apects that comprise a perfect command of English. A lot of grammar points. My question is do we need all of that content to be fluent and bilingual? It's really dissapointing to browse through those pages! believe me... I hope you are better now and thanks a lot. A very sad Susana from Argentina...
@EnglishCoach3Ts2 ай бұрын
No. You do not need to study those types of materials to be fluent. You might need that to take the test, but the test does not tell us whether or not you are fluent. A better use of your time is reading something you understand 95% or more AND you enjoy! Let me know how it goes
