Honestly for me, my start was v. Mostly because no store near me had cards. Then in 2017, I found a store that had a altmile trial deck while away at college. Then a month or so later, V started. I found a store, I found a group of people and started playing. Even looking back on all the anime’s of cardfight, I still enjoy v and the anime. However, I do admit after looking at all the case before, the bastardizied Misuki in v. However I honestly liked how in v, instead of aichi after losing to a link joker player and having to use a mirror to stop him from getting controlled, in v, he loses and is actually gets taken control of. That mirror scene always pissed me off in the link joker arc. It shows how nothing will happen to aichi. In V, they show that being a protagonist doesn’t mean they can’t fail when a other worldly source comes to take over. Also I agree with your idea of Kanzaki of giving up is a sin. However, I feel like, from what is shown, he was treating cardfight like building an army. Like, when will doing push-ups and being hit by a riding crop in the back from collapsing make you better at cardfighting. Also I agree that Crono was a bad protagonist. Also to end it off, I honestly think the tournament arc after the link joker in V was better then the legion arc. It gave background characters more time to shine, it shows what happened if your get “deleted” and how someone can recover from it, and shows how some who used a deck for evil(Kouji) hates what he did and tries to quit the game, only for his cards to tell him a different story and get him back into it. Also the story isn’t just, “I need to find aichi because he is mate” for a whole season This is my opinion but I respect yours. I love this video and am now subscribed and looking forward for what is to come.

Thank you for the lovely comment! I'm glad you like the video. My favorite is Bermuda Triangle. My point is that they are treated like a side show crossover clan and that disgusts me. In that regard, D series is worse. The gameplay is even more luck based, the ride deck is monotonous and boring with no deviation or change for interesting choice to ever happen, my Nation (magallanica) got ripped in half, and everything that was ever good about Bermuda Triangle was scrubbed from it and replaced with jail bait for gooners. Actively disgusting and offensive. Overdress is the worst.

@speedrobo99 ture to that the power creep kina messed up everything for v gifts should never have been stack able, should have been limited to 4 gifts a game at most and not on the same circle. But yea if your clan was Bermuda I can see why lyrical is a jumbled mess of a nation now where triangle had clan and archetype mechanics that worked well.

Vanguard was an amazing franchise at the start then in g and v I kinda got fed up then came zero and since it was starting from the start I gave it shot since my favourite card gancelot zenith was coming but I got bored the only reason to play the game was to get to legend after that there is no point except if you want to get destroyed by the newest cards.Hopefully overdress gives me the motivation to watch the anime and play the tcg

I agree. I have every confidence that overdress will be great for the first year of the game. Then the rnd team will change, bushi will powercreep faster and faster to make people buy more and more. The game will go to shit , people will say "oh this is the last time they get me. If they reboot again I'm done". Then bushroad will announce another reboot with appealing starters and some seemingly pro player gimic. Everyone then jumps back on. This is the cycle now. We've seen it before. It makes money, so it will happen again.

I have tried Overdress. It was worse. Good lord, was it worse. I loved how episode one was 20 straight minutes of played out and borderline offensive cross dressing jokes. I love how the overtrigger completely derails games and shows up just to let someone win or lose at total random. I love how the ride deck turns every game into the same boring sequence over and over with 0 required thought or choices made by the players. I love how all of the clans got mashed up into the same basic 5 color system that every other game on the planet uses while shoving Bermuda off to the side EVER HARDER than they ever have been. I love how this mashing together of clans has completely eroded the unique aesthetics and flavor that vanguard used to have. I love how ride chains mechanically function identically to clans with the only benefit the nation system gives to player being an increase in perfect guard and staple trigger prices. I love how essential cards for you deck are printed as UN-obtainable promo cards.

Completely new to Cardfight. How age appropriate would you say the anime is? (overDress and the previous seasons) Is it basically like Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh in this regard? EDIT: Nvm about overDress... From what little I've seen, the implication of Danji (and others) being a groomer to main character Yuyu is over the top. I stopped at episode 7 when Danji's hand was literally in his pants on his crotch sleeping next to Yuyu. 🤮 Do your recall if previous seasons were this bad?

So, I actually do touch on this a little bit in the video. The OG series run is actually pretty clean. It's when you get into G, The reboot, and ESPECIALLY Overdress that everything goes to shit. When I say that Vanguard used to be great, I mean it. It really did.
