I had my Dyson for about 10 years and it cleaned my house phenomenally I maintained every part of it. I took everything apart at least every 2 to 3 months and wash it down I would take it down to the studs if I could lol and maintain my machine that’s part of having a vacuum. The only reason why I stopped using it now was because I moved in her house and I wanted to try having a Central Vacuum, which I absolutely love however I have a carpet cleaning company and I just recently bought a new Dyson and I absolutely love it. The things I pull out of peoples carpets is ridiculous. I’ve been the biggest fan of bagged vacuums because for me they have always clogged some extends or always had to change the bags often when you pick up a lot of dog hair and such MyDyson was vacuum empty and keep going. Do they have a lot of cheap vacuums out there and they have a lot of great vacuums that cost $1 million so I think it just depends on the person and their budget and what they’re looking for in that moment I don’t necessarily think all backless vacuums are horrible, but they’re a lot of not great ones out there and I don’t necessarily think that all bags vacuums are great either.

I will take any bagless vac over the waste of money bagged vac. One you better not be an environmentalist caUse the process of manufacturing and shipping the bags pollutes the air. And you have to keep buying them so more pollution for delivery. The. Landfills. No thanks give me a bagless dyson over this waste.

I bought two vacuums, one being the Hoover hushtone and the other the Samsung bespoke jet. It allows me to deep clean needed areas but have convenience when trying to clear stairs, furniture, or even light touch ups while both having sealed hepa systems. The Samsung was crucial as others in the household can’t use the weight of the hushtone like me, so it’s typically when doing a full clean that I use it. Wouldn’t change a thing, they are both absolute dreams to own.

we just got a Sebo k2 kombi...best vac we have ever had...and i thought my Kirby was nice...this thing blows that away and its so light and so solid...goes to show you buy the best and buy once you save in the long run...and since we ordered off the Sebo US site they gave us the 10/10/7 warranty and its not even an onyx...amazing dedication to the customer...and this channel really helped point us in this direction since our house is too small for a central vac...thanks @Performance Reviews.

About 2 years ago, I had a Kirby salesman show up to my door. One google search led me to your channel and I ended up buying a used Kirby G4. I just upgraded to a Sebo Felix and I can't thank you enough for the move. Before the G4, I had a Shark. The difference in performance is astronomical. My carpets are cleaner. My Bissell Big Green performs better as it does not have to deal with pet hair my Shark couldn't pick up. I save so much time vacuuming now.

Much of the current society does not understand build quality. The products designed and manufactured today are not expected to last, so this forces people to keep buying new products. I have a 10 year old Riccar, still going strong. I have just kept it clean and replaced the brush bar, and use good quality hepa bags.

A perfect example I have is my Windsor Sensor S12 that I literally pulled out of a dumpster due to a local hotel going out of business. I found it back in 2004 and all it needed was a new belt for the brush. I have used it ever since and it has never let me down.

Cheap is really just another word for ‘expensive’. It’s interesting when people think they will save lots and lots of money but end up throwing more money away on cheap vacuums as opposed to buying something more expensive that will last a long, long time and will pay for itself many times over. The only bagless vacuums I’ll personally own will be older machines with a shake out and and yes I am aware the filtration isn’t the best but probably is ahead of the vacuums in Walmart and big box stores.

@@PerformanceReviews bags really only need to be changed about once every 1 to 2 months. Those people who claim that bagged vacuums “loose suction” probably only use the cheaper single layer paper bags which get clogged fairly quickly. Since the material that vacuum bags are made of over the years has changed, bagged vacuums don’t really loose suction and airflow like they used to. May gradually drop off over time, but no where near as bad with the single layer paper bags from years ago.

As someone who dumpster dives for vacuum cleaners and sells them for a profit you are 100% correct.We live in a disposable society and not just vacuum s either, vehicles and technology too. Many cleaners I find were tossed because they were clogged and tossed because they are too lazy to find out where the clog actually is. one thing I noticed is that Shark makes it's cleaners with cheap materials. It hasn't been two years and the bristles on the roller are starting to fall apart on the cleaner I use for my Study room. Considering I found it new shows slot about the quality of the materials they use.

Couldn't agree more, everyone thinks they are saving money when they purchase a cheap vacuum but they don't realize that it's only going to last them a couple years and then they will need to purchase another one. And many of these cheap vacuums are difficult, if not impossible to repair.

I agree with this, however, as someone who has grown up very poor my mom was more focused on staying off the streets and putting food on the table than buying a vacuum and was only able to afford the cheapest vacuum at the time which happened to be a Dirt Devil Dynamite and that was the only vacuum she ever had, well until things got better. It lasted a while and cleaned ok even though it wasn't a good machine and would spit dust from the exhaust, only reason it broke was because of my mentally unstable cousin freaking out and breaking everything including it which she would have also been able to do with a better machine like a Sebo. Only things ever replaced on it were the belts. To give you an idea this was a $40 vacuum, and she could only afford it when it went on sale for $20.

I got a Shark Stratos cordless for quick clean up and cleaning my Parrots area. It actually picks up all the big and small crumbs they drop and does well on the carpets. I also have a Deebot T8plus self empty robot that runs every night. AND I have several old school metal Royal uprights and canister vacuums when I want to do a deep cleaning. I can find parts as far as filters and normal wear parts easily and cheap for all of them. All the Royals were bought used and cheap. The cordless I watched for the best price new or refurbished and bought when a deal showed up. I Think the Shark claimed to be hepa, not sure about the robot. The old Royals were before that was a thing but you can get hepa rated bags for them. I'm reasonably happy with all of them but I am not afraid to tear any of them down to repair them till they aren't worth fixing anymore, I doubt the parts for the Royals will ever go away and they are simple and built like tanks, very similar to Kirby but lighter.
@eviecardinal
@eviecardinal 4 ай бұрын
Another important thing to know is that not all bagged machines are actually good, especially Bissell. They still haven’t upgraded to a hepa bag or made a bagged upright in a while that’s actually good. It’s kind of sad that you can’t really find a good vacuum these days in any big box store. I will say going to a vacuum store is one of the best options. They will sell you a high quality machine that’s been tuned up for a great price.

😒 checkout your local thrift stores, look and see if they have a traditional upright vacuum that uses paper bags, also pickup Shop Vac to vacuum up the car and for stuff all around the house like walls and ceilings and nooks and crannies. Some of the old school uprights to look out for are the ones that are built with mostly metal parts and they might have labels on them stating that it is for 'commercial' use
@ckelly5141
@ckelly5141 4 ай бұрын
I guess if you like traditional uprights. You get what you pay for usually. Unless it is a reputable brand, it’s best to avoid it. Bags are another issue. Miele original canister bags are 9 ply and cost $35.00 C for 8 bags with intake and exhaust filters. Cheaper canisters or uprights are usually no more than 3 ply and may cost less but are way less effective at what they are supposed to do.

Wow. I never thought about the sealed cheap vacuums that are good at filtration becoming warped from the cheap plastic/heat losing the seal...I think you can gauge how well your vacuum is working if when you're done cleaning....and furiniture has been freshly dusted with the dusting brush...if you see little to no dust the next day on what you just dusted... you're good.... I know you have a central vac...but have access to all of these great vacuums... but if I had a central vac... that's what I would use too.

There's no reason dust should be ever settling on your furniture after you vacuum. If you had that amount of dust you would have some sort of lung disease fairly quickly.

I paid almost 520 bucks for my Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra upright (Got it from QVC with a $10 discount, so it was $489.99 plus tax, split up into 5 payments of $103.88), and it is a very solid performer. I clean the bare floors, carpeted stairs, and the upstairs carpet with it, and it always does a great job at getting dirt and hair out of the carpet and off the bare floors. The pre motor filter hardly gets dirty even after a few months of vacuuming, and the HEPA filter is still clean. This is definitely an upgrade from the Kenmore Progressive bagless upright that I used to have, the one that was a rebranded Panasonic JetForce Perform. That vacuum also did pretty well performance wise, and its HEPA filter never had to be changed for as long as I had owned it, but the cyclonic system it used wasn't as efficient as the Dyson's cyclonic separation is, and some parts of it felt cheap. Plus the belt was a pain in the ass to replace (My Dyson uses a direct drive power head, so thank god for no belts to hassle with). I used to have a DC33 and a DC07, and neither one had any issues and were solid performers.

Nobody changes filters anywhere near as much has he suggests they do. People run those filters years and buy the bagless machines because they are cheaper to buy and operate. They also get satisfaction out of seeing how much dirt they collect and empty. They aren't concerned with dirt being released into the air. Not saying he's wrong about anything. I agree with him but after years of working and talking with regular people this is what they tell me and why they prefer bagless and cheap machines. I have a Miele C3. Miele bags are $5-$6 each and the filter is $40. All that after spending $1400+ on the vacuum. That is a tough sell to people who are not into vacuums.
