I totally agree with you about Pelikan. Their engineering and craftsmanship is superb, their materials outstanding. I originally bought the green M1000 to commemorate what would have been my late mother's eightieth birthday since as a young woman she had this exact model. If there were a better selection of colours in the M1000 I would have more than just the one by now!

Why choose a Pelikan pen? Because you are not going to find anything better. Sure, models from other brands may be more appealing and pretty for some, but quality-wise nothing beats a well tuned Pelikan nib and piston mechanism. Nothing.

The M200 is in the 'Classic' range is a cheaper pen, but it is the same size as the M400 and so larger in physical size than the M300.
