I got micro locs for the same reason. As a black girl maintaining my long and thick hair was hard for me, I started my mirco loc journey 1 year ago. Lemme tell u, I love them so much, it maintained my curl pattern

SAME. I went to a sisterlock consultant and told her I wanted them bigger. I ended up with about 250. When she was done she asked me when I wanted to come back for my first retie. I gave her the monkey puppet meme side eye and gave her a date, but I texted her later and canceled because I never planned on paying others to do my reties lol. I've done them myself from the very first one. It is sooo freeing!! So much less time than when I was a loose natural and my hair was always in two french braids then.

But do you really need that perfect grid? If you do, do you boo! My grid is far from perfect. I stupidly combined a total of 6 locs into 3 locs when I should have been waiting on the process. Love my locs tho and the loc count and grid are both perfect for me now.

I never eceb knew wgat sisterlocs were 😂. I immediately found microlocs when I started looking into locs. I learned the difference during my research but I always knew I would starting my own and maintaining them so micros were a no trainer.

If you’re worried about borders and edges, consider having bangs established with your locs. I did and edges are no longer a matter for color neceen.

How did you start your hair?... I interlocked my hair 2 years ago and took them out cause i missed my lose hair 😂 Now I want my locs back but i don't want to take a week to do it again, so I'm thinking about braiding the base and two strand twisting the legnth.

I started with interlocking the whole way down. My hair is naturally really curly and I exercise a lot so my hair would have unraveled. Plus I knew my locs would mature slowly and didn't want it braided.

I've heard that the method of locing is different. Microlocs are interlocked at the roots with two strand twists, whereas sisterlocs are started from the end of the hair and interlocked to the roots.

It's such a huge price range. Mine cost a little under $300 but I have heard of pricess well over $1000. Then if you pay someone ro retie every 4-8 weeks, that can range from $100-300.
