Another idea is that Stellantis should open a showroom on their name and give people options to buy brands under stellantis (Citroen, Fiat/Abarth, Jeep) by Made to order method. There will be hiccups with test drive models, but atleast that could be a better option for the brand to grow in India. Even dealers will have many models to sell.

Excellent review!! Discussion about the Stellantis group, Citroen and Jeep. Both are wonderful vehicles, their marketing strategy is really half baked or cooked. People have lost trust because of the discontinued nature & the after service. But KIA and Hyundai have different strategy, it sells like gooseberries, varieties. From pricing,engine options and gearbox options etc. Dealership in plenty. Until the stellantis group change their strategy nothing is going to happen.

Just giving my exp on one similar story. I had 8-9 lakhs budget for a micro suv- hatchback and zeroed on magnite. But decided to look other way coz nissan has only one model and underpowered engine for that. May be if there are more models or a more powerful 1.2 litre engine i would have bought that car.

You are exactly correct about sales end. In tiruvarur Suzuki upgrade their showroom and small tent for nexa. After immediately Hyundai open their showroom with service near nexa outlet. Suddenly tata,Mahindra extended their outlet and Kia, Toyota extended their relationship manager to people's end. But Citroen group lost in their strategy.

My uncle works in manufacturing, he makes body shell for citron, he asked to run away from citron, they have bad QA, manfacturing is done ols style, for eg : welding is done manually using welding gun and its not a robotic hands.

I partially agree with these statements, I'll tell you the reason why.. Before we do the critic should keep in mind a few points. > Driver centric & comfort in their DNA/vehicle Architecture from basic segments. >The Material, Process, Durability, Weatherability conditions are not the same in the competative product segments. >Pls keep in mind Lookalike doesn't mean it's the same. Hence the comparison between Korean/ Indian OEM's is itself Counterfactual, but if you see Europian/US Architectures these are (comfort,Drivability, safety) basics and good for long driving without fatigue. And the other Question comes here, why are Korean car makers sales high ? Unfortunately Indian car buyers choice/expectation is very limited, few of those i pointed. >would need everything (Good in styling, dashing looks, doesn't mind about safety features, comfort, Drivability,body roll over & so-on...) >With all these above conditions,Car should be also at a lower cost. So Koreans are having a good time, understanding the typical Indian mindsets well and using this opportunity. But European/US practice of Architecture won't allow such violations & no compromise. I specifically worked on Engineering teardown this product C3 & eC3 benchmarking with Punch,Ignis,Baleno with the competative segment vehicles for a cost saving project, the results are very insightful Materials , features, processes are not same this results in the price difference hence it's incomparable.. Fortunately we could see this situation is slowly changing and people are really getting awareness about these engineering stuffs..

I owned Fiat Punto it’s an excellent reliable vehicle and cheap to own too… but service is real pain service centres will keep the vehicles for a week and do service in a relaxed way. Especially VTK mopar service centre in Kattupakkam Chennai. Even the same pain felt by Jeep owners with the service experience. Even I wanted to upgrade to compass but end up in buying Hyundai. So it’s a main downside and service cost is 18k minimum cost .

@motowagon One more reason for Jeep poor sales is high maintenance cost. As an owner of a Jeep Compass, I can feel the high maintenance cost compared to other brands. Because of the high maintenance cost, many people sold their Compass and switched to other brand vehicles. Also, the closing of outlets in many cities including Tirunelveli impacted the sales. As you said, the brand Jeep has good potential. Once you start driving Jeep compass, you will not be satisfied with other cars (Creta, MG Hector, Harrier, etc). The ride quality is too good.

No doubt. You have done a very exhaustive and elaborate research highlighting the shortcomings in their marketing strategy. However, there is one salient aspect that tilts the balance heavily when it comes to buying a vehicle and that is its fuel consumption. Now a days I see Maruthi advertising their product to be giving mileage of around 30 kmpl even for their larger sized vehicle such as Grand Vitara. Grand Vitara is stated to give a mileage of 26 kmpl and the new Alto 30 kmpl. Whether it is achieved in real world situation is another story and tests reveals that there is invariably a difference to the extent of 2 kmpl in MID reading and tank to tank tests conducted. Citroen has beautiful products up their sleeves and of course the lack of Sales, Service and Spares availability inhibits their sales in volumes. I would request you to highlight to them the need to improve fuel efficiency in their Cars taking a leaf or two from VW where they have ushered in some novel techniques such as restricting fuel supply to the one or two cylinders when the vehicle has achieved it maximum torque on the move. User reviews indicate Citroen owners proudly claiming their vehicles to give them joy and sanctification after every drive and their numbers are growing steadily. To your question regarding two brands using one and the same engine, it should be Maruthi & Toyota / Hyundai & KIA.

S I am owning C3 since January 2023. If top model of Shine was available at that time I could have purchased Shine. They are releasing varients on installment. Infotainment system gives problem they could not sort it out till now a small software issue but.... They have to do lot of homework. They can bring some plenty of beautiful models running all over the world to India. As you explained beautifully whether Company will get into . One thing I must say is comfortable driving no doubt for that I purchased. Thank you motowagon.🎉

@motowagan and moto family I bought a preowned jeep compass 2018 model petrol automatic with 45k driven km on july 2023 so far I covered 7k km from mu I had good drive and lot of good memories in the car few weeks back transmission by seeing error show room has told its abs sensor issue and same replaced later again got the same showroom another abs sensor got failed.... shall I have this car by fixing the issue another 3yrs or sell it immediately and go for creata or hyryder manual ??? Please your thoughts and advise required😢

Since the time the video was released, Citroen have introduced automatics with additional features and safety, launched Basalt and have MS Dhoni as brand ambassador. With more SSS centers they could potentially grow better. How is it now? Are they doing better after Basalt?

Jeep compass the best within 25 lakhs . It is premium brand 2 litre 170 hp even bmw x1 148 hp only and twice the price higher in on road and maintaince . Drive the compass you will definitely feel the turbo ❤ ❤❤

Got an offer for C5. I am waiting for XUV700 delivery, I thought , why not give c5 a go ? Saw your videos on c5 and other videos too. One thing which they go pretty much wrong is pricing. C5 should be placed below 30L. The extra cost just for suspension doesnt justify imo. The FSD on xuv700 is not bad either. Given the Road tax in TN , Citroen should price c5 competitively. Also when i enquired , many of my friends told to get innova for that price point just to have peace of mind regarding service. I really wish Citroen rethink the pricing startegy.

Kindly place the option of subtitle so even non tamil people also can understand. I will share this video to the Stellantis group through Linked in. As you have mentioned & I have also personally feel as these brands should get a deserved place in India. Since well crafted engine. Well design, superior comfort, Driving dynamic. Since i have worked in Car sales I can also add few points. Well said when people see the brands very often their mind will automatically thinks about it. How today maruti success one of the reason they used to open stalls everyday near by banks,malls,super market. So when people see this brand frequently it will definitely crawls in to their mind. They should open a composite showroom for Jeep,Citroen,Fiat initially in Tier 1 & 2 at the earliest & slowly by tier 3 cities. Buyer will also look into the resale value. So they should consider that. Well said they should stop sell their engines to other car manufactures. I think you have mentioned. Maruti & Toyota alliance. But Maruti can sell like a hot cake. Toyota cleverly formed this alliance. People have a mindset they can buy Maruti product 18-20 lakhs beyond that they will go for Toyota brand somewhat premium according to their perspective. Apart from this particular content. I personally feel as the best analytical skills of yourself & your team. Which helps us to think everything in a different angle. Kia set best example how to penetrate get mass market - Mid size SUV. They clearly win inspite of there is already market leader creta in first position in sales numbers. Still Seltos makes incredible consistent sales every month. I am proud owner of Seltos diesel.

I agree with most of the points. In my view Citroen failure appears to be mainly due 2 reasons, primarily misunderstanding that the Indian market is for cheap cars but reality is Indians look for value in the car, if it is a cheap car market then nobody would be buying overpriced Innova and Fortuner. Secondly, maybe due to arrogance, no company should try to dictate what feature customers should be enjoying, let people decide what they need and the car maker should provide multiple options. Actually Citroen c3 had great potential to fill the space left by Punto and Polo. I myself after selling my Punto was waiting this European car with much expectation but found to be Citroen not interested in India. Also the arrogance of the sales executive when dealing with customers to improved. When I asked for a test drive they Informed me that first you pay and book the car then only will provide the test drive , if not satisfied will refund the booking amount. They think selling c3 to a as though they are doing some favour .

Adding features to ec3 is again a miss.. they should have done it for c3 hatch and soon bring few more basic facilities...they could have priced more aggressively considering the cheap features used on their products and gave the market like Renault did with kwid.. that is the issue.. as you said it is really possible for a manufacturer to provide, but the consulting team who did market analysis has directed them in wrong direction.. they have now delayed c3x launch to reconsider on features to be included.. their final ticket to survive in india(when they did testing of c3 without camouflage with the intent to popularise the product they should have also read the reviews given by automobi reviewers about mentioning like it may not be the top model being tested as they dont see ACC and many other modern day basic features). wanted to have variety of groups to operate in India as otherwise people will have limited options to chose and settle unhappily with it..

Sir compass top end started with 30lakh on road for manual 4x4 now it is 42 lakh for 9 speed auto ..12 lakh difference just for an auto,they are not able to price it properly …there lies the problem ..a great car ruined by poor pricing and just 1 dealership in each town to create monopoly …sad state …

I haven't left for service till date , but I enquired few people who own ec3 and c3 they are very happy with their purchase. But their Sales team is very poor, if you are going for Citroen you should bare with them.

Thanks for video! I am thinking of cancelling my C3T booking that i did mid nov 2023. i chose to wait for MY2024 car. my dealer saying MY24 production not started and it will take minimum 2 months to get MY24 car. He says still only may 2023 car is gettimg alloted from Citroen.
