Also keep in mind you finding a 1943 Copper or a 1944 Steel from any mint has the same odds as getting stuck by lightening while being in a shark attack and it's even rarer to find a experimental planchet example. You also have to remember people and collectors have been looking for these Unicorn coins for 76 years but good luck. :)

The grey color is galvanizing , a zinc coating like on guard rails on the side of roads. Used for the same reasons. To prevent weathering /oxidation. Always super good content.

I just opened up a full 50 Cent war of mint 1943 zinc what he did pennies half of them are double dice summer Philadelphia in summer Denver which is the best way I should have them graded. I’ve already brought them to the coin dealer in my local area 81-year-old man went through every one of my coins and said I had some serious machine doubling on a lot of my Queens New York brown condition picked up four of the best ones that I should have sent in all these serious money coins if the whole fronts are doubled? Can you please reply back what you think

I found a 43 that looks like it's missing the zinc coating on the back. Looks like a giant milk spot and is not extremely shinny like when you plate them? So can the zinc coating wear off

i got a 'real deal' 1943 copper cent from a family owned convenience store back in the 70s. not plated does not stick to a magnet. its in my safe deposit box my insurance policy. its not perfect but i doubt i'd have a problem selling it. has a little ding above the wheat stalks. after seeing one on ebay for a million dollars and mine looked better i decided to let mine to live its life in my box. i'd love to have a 1944 steel to go with it. just checked ebay, nothing but im betting etsy and wish have fakes for sale.

I never understood why people wasted their time plating steel pennies. They aren't worth much and it ruins what little value to a collector that they do have. You have a couple of beautiful Indian cents on your website. If I was rich they would be mine, especially that '09 S. 👍

I know this video is 2 years old but I’m hoping to get a reply. I found a 1943D steel penny a couple days ago. It has a few errors on it. It has I think it’s called cud errors around the rim in 2 places. It also looks like it has double dying on the front and back I think it has several errors. Also it looks almost uncirculated. I could really use some help with this I could send you pictures please help if you can I would like to know if it would be worth money. Thank you Diane

You should probably buy a Gold Shield slabbed coin even if it costs a little more. They are air- and water-tight. I bought a common date Lincoln cent in one of those slabs just to test it. Then I immersed the slab in water for three months and there's no corrosion on the coin. The paper insert did get wet and ripply but the ink didn't run or anything.

I have a question which has to do w/ a few rare coins I need to have graded. For one I own A very high grade 1922. If the container it came inside of is correct than I believe it's in fact a 1922 Satin finish peace dollar because when we first bought it from a local coin dealer it was in a holder that stated it was A Satin Finish. Which since buying it it was taken out of the container that it came inside of. Being fairly new at collecting at that time which was now over a decade ago. At the time we got this coin my boyfriend WLD put them all in those clear plastic w/ cardboard material on the side of container thus to put into a book for viewing. With that being said I've heard nightmares when it comes to using the mail to send it in for grading & not getting the same coin back in the mail. I dk how true that in fact is. I obviously can't afford to lose this coin & I know enough about coins to know that it's a total irreplaceable coin. So when they say they'll replace the coin if there's an issue. Pretty obvious that they can't replace my coin. With that being said do you have any advice as to how I shld go about having my coin graded and wld I be better off waiting till they do another show that offers on site grading?. Out of the 3 top grading company's which 1 is most reputable?? Thk you ahead of time as I've always love your channel & I trust your opinion on this matter. 💜😊

You should take some pictures with good lighting and send them to the CoinHelpu website. Take several pictures until you feel that the coin is best represented. Daniel will definitely weigh in on a coin like that if it is a satin finish.
