The idea that bugs don't like flour must be an anecdote. Unfortunately, there are bugs that thrive in flour, known as flour bugs.

new question for Dr Gundry: Please please please talk about osteoporosis! You said your wife improved her bone issues. How did she do that?? This is a serious concern for most older women!

I have neared bone broth will help to build bones but not too much of it because of too much minerals in it. I take oleaster powder, which Iranians have been taking it over 2000 years for building bones.

CONFUSION: I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT IT'S BETTER NOT TO EAT ANYTHING SO PROCESSED THAT IT DOEN'T DECOMPOSE (UNLESS DRIED IN WHOLE FORM) BUT PEA PROTEIN ISOLATE POWDER DOES NOT HAVE LECTINS BECAUSE OF THE PROCESS, BUT NON-ISOLATED DOES, ACCORDING TO EVERTHING I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND ONLINE ABOUT IT. IN FACT I'VE NEVER SEEN NON-ISOLATED PEA PROTEIN. I'M WANTING TO FIND OUT EXACTLY HOW MUCH PROTEIN I NEED AND THE BEST NON-DAIRY VEGETARIAN SOURCES. WHY IS IT SOOO DIFFICULT TO GET SPECIFIC INFO?

Suppose a body burns an average of X0 calories/day doing nothing. And suppose it burns an average of X1 calories/day of activity, such as exercise (which could be walking, running, biking, weight lifting, etc). So my average total calorie/day "burn" rate is XT=X0+X1. We can agree that it requires energy for your body to process calories, correct? It requires more energy to break down protein than carbs and fat. So, if you eat Y calories per day, energy will be expended simply by your body processing, or breaking down those calories, therefore less than Y calories are available for your body to use (that is, stored as fat, burned for energy, and rebuild/repair muscle). Let's say that total calories available for use is YT. Let's say that calories from consumed protein is Y1, from carbs is Y2, and fat is Y3. So calories consumed is Y=Y1+Y2+Y3. Now the "cost" of breaking down Y1 is some factor applied to those calories; that is, you're left with a portion of those calories after they are broken down. So we can apply a "factor" to those calories. Let's say a factor of p for protein, c for carbs, and f for fat, where each of these factors is less than or equal to 1. Therefore, YT=pY1+cY2+fY3. pY1 is used for muscle repair/rebuilding. cY2 is stored as fat thanks to insulin. And fY3 is used for energy. If my total average calories/day burned is XT, and my total average calories/day used by the body after consumption is YT, then YT-XT is either an average calorie surplus or deficit per day. What if YT>XT? What happens to the surplus? Suppose you do not eat any carbs (carnivore or keto diet). So YT=pX1+fX3. Thus, no calories are being stored as fat. Suppose YT>XT. What happens to the surplus?

Dr Gundry I am pre diabetic, means no starch. I have cholesterol means no animal protein. I have postnasal means no dairy and can’t have beans cause I get bloated. Can you tell me what I should eat? Also I’m not overweight. I can’t live only on vegetables and nuts. Any suggestion please? Oh also I have ostopina and can’t have milk.

High cholesterol is definitely not from animal protein. It's from sugar and being pre diabetic.

I am so fed up with those idiots stating CICO somehow doesn't work. What do these people think they gain their mass from? Creatio ex nihilo? CICO or better yet: EIEO (energy in energy out) is the only method of energy/mass conversion. Not only every living organism has to obey thermodynamics (eating or photosynthesis). Everything including inanimate matter in our universe is bound by the law of thermodynamics.

Calories depends on body's metabolic rate of calorific burn. The rule is if your body is burning 1900 calories a day not exercising and you train about 1000 calories on top of that, technically you could eat 3000 calories in one sitting and still lose weight because it all depends on how fast your body burns calories while eating /resting a high metabolism will smash calories and after exercise carbs get smashed too best time to eat any carb is after training. Then a keto and some protein diet in that one meal a day is what I used to do I stayed lean only because I kept my body trained and I'm in my 40's with the body of a 20 year old. I think calorie counting is important only for sedentary lifestyle, but if your young your metabolism typically is usually high so thus calorie counting shouldn't really be a thing until you get older, or if you have a slow metabolism then by all means calorie count cause in the end it depends on what your body is burning rather than the amount of calories you take in. Find your own metabolic rate and then you can decide if you should count calories. Oh yeah and there is truth to be told in the healthy gut bacteria this dr is talking about.

Yes, counting calories is completely irrelevant today. Why? The answer is that man is an open thermodynamic system. When will caloric balance apply in the human body? It's called RIGOS MORTIS.

Calorie counting works perfectly well and countless people have lost weight doing it. In fact the only way to lose weight is to be on a caloric deficit and the way to know that one is in a deficit is to count their calories.
@f8c3themusic

I disagree. People lose weight because they indirectly eat less carbs when eating less calories. I bet if you cut calories BUT did all carbs and sugar, you wouldn’t lose weight.
@f8c3themusic
@f8c3themusic 2 жыл бұрын
Also, if you cut 500 carbs a day (and lost 1lb a week), theoretically, you will disappear if you did this for 3-5 years right? I’m being facetious. This only works up until a point.

@@f8c3themusic If you are in a caloric deficit you will lose weight, and if those calories you cut came from carbs, yes you will still lose weight. If you don't have enough calories to maintain your weight, then where do you think that energy magically comes from? People can't just receive energy magically from the air they breath.
