This is kinda crazy. I just started obsessing over the flash just last week. I've always thought that Superheroes would best find love with another hero, because they could actually understand each other. Similarly here, they did seem like a great couple, they would probably push each other to much greater heights. And I definitely feel like Iris dismissing what Reverse Flash did is just so stupid, especially what he managed to do later on. I was always more of a SnowBarry fan personally (Barry Allen and Caitlin Snow, because they had pretty great chemistry as well right from the first episode), but SuperFlash was always a very close second ship that I adored as well - again, due to their natural chemistry, and honestly? If the CW had gone down the SuperFlash route, I think I would have been completely for it. 🙂 I didn't completely hate Iris - I didn't mind her too much in seasons 1 to 3, and I sort of could get on board with the ship in regards to their Earth 2 variants - but...yeah, it's not hard to see how toxic it became very quickly. And while I think it was helped along by the fact that the actors knew one another, to be honest I believe that Barry had better chemistry with every other love interest but Iris. Even he and Felicity clicked more and would've been great together. Caitlin and him had more chemistry than he and Iris. Doubley so after Killer Frost came to the forefront in her life. He was in love at Iris for almost all his life and after they got together, there was just something about their relationship with one another that felt hollow and fake.

Iris could still be endgame, but she didn't have to be the only relationship he had once he got with her. They could have split up for a while or had Barry lose his relationship with her through flashpoint (if Barry had stayed with his family, he should have never gotten as close with iris for example). And the supergirl flash relationship could have easily been pushed aside later on due to the fact that they live in different universes and are superheroes, so they never had time for each other (it would even have been a good plot point for the show as it would have saved them from the cost of showing a real crossover relationship lol)

Same here. When they approached one another in the first crossover, they just wanted to talk. Then when danger came, they both went hero mode, had trials, tribulations, and beat the bad guy(s). At the end, they complimented, while respecting one another, and had a little race. Overall it was a cute friendship, but felt they could've been more. Hence the fanfics of them
