@@flybeep1661you don't need a source on everything, can you provide a source on why something is automatically worthless without a source? if I claim that humans need oxygen to survive, asking for a source in that scenario might not be very helpful to all parties involved(allthough there is of course always a slim chance of something being reasonable but not correct) in this case though you could just think in terms of energy/heat when oleds works by giving out light rather than blocking it like an lcd and we assume that the consumption doesn't reduce with Pixel brightness, we now have extra energy on our hands that is not going into 'making' light so you would expect the screen to heat up, that would mean that oled screens heat up more the darker they get, this already conflicts with what most people should know in reality we just have individual leds that behave very similar if not identical to other leds which not only consume less due to the lower brightness, but also get more efficient with lower output powers

Most coders usually have some form/acute autism or ADHD, its a really common issue for people with such brains to recoils from things like, the big white light on their ceiling. I've always heard that working a well lit room is better for you but I imagine that a large portion of developers experience bright lights differently. These studies had a fairly large sample that was diverse but I don't see anything specific to ADHD or autism.

I moved to lightmode from dark mode mainly from the studies which were referenced in this video. I do think I gained some performance and I feel like i have less text burnt into my eyes.
