I agree, one of the biggest factors that make him look so real (apart from the technical achievements) is that he is treated like any other character. He does things that feel grounded and mundane, which adds to the realistic aspect, he is like a human with a different appearance and moves in a way that feels natural. Even the sound effects give him a sense of weight that CGI characters sometimes lack.

Great video! I just rewatched POTC trilogy last week and im still in disbelief the CGI of that time could make something like Davy Jones, almost 20 years! later and it still unmatched. What would it take to make something similar to him on this time and technology? Creativity and a much better deadline for animators right? Even so i think we'll have to wait a long time to see it.

honestly general grievous is up there, and Valerian is up there with some of the creatures, but no one appreciates it cause the movie is terrible
