I have threatened people for years that if they start playing Christmas music before then, I will play Stephen Lynch's "Halloween" at full volume. It's not a very family-friendly song, but for most of November, its associated holiday is closer than Christmas. I don't want to be a Grinch, but I find that if Christmas starts too early, I end up waiting for it to be over instead of anticipating it.

Funny and all... but over here in Australia January gets hit with Australia Day, Easter and Valentines promos. Christmas in July is sometimes a thing, so we can pretend to have snow in winter instead of sunburn during actual Christmas.. and if we don't celebrate Christmas in July we only have one Turkey time. Naturally we advertise Christmas during Halloween time so our department store aisles look like they're going to start fighting..
