Yeah, first Monstrosity album is one of the most important DM albums of all times. I remember one of the first Polish licensed cassette from MMP with pink print (MASS003) I bought in 8th grade of primary school. Autumn 1992. Perfect front cover, great time of Metal brotherhood and the beginnings of total mania.

As for the original Angelcorpse breakup, the story I heard was that Pete's girlfriend was attacked. She pulled out a knife to defend herself and got injured during the attack but was okay. He didn't want to tour after that. That's what I heard years ago.
@pichael46422 жыл бұрын
I believe Alex Camargo took over vocal duties for that tour too when Pete left for that incident. I always heard Pete was kinda like a diva. When he did interviews he requested no more than 6 questions and he only can pre approve them before answer them. I always seen them hang out together during the show eating or socializing so I would never guess they hated each other.

Yeah man!! Rated X was a favorite amongst my circle of small-town death metal circle of friends here in Central Illinois back in the late 90s/early 2000s... 'I Am The Love Undertaker' + 'Black Semen Vengeance' + 'Unleash My Hunger' (great album!!). Per's vocals are insane on that album!! My friend actually emailed drummer Rikard Wermen in 2003 and asked what some of the movie samples were from. He told him that the outro-sample to 'Black Semen Vengeance' was from 'Beyond The Valley of the Dolls' 1970 (I think movie critic Rogert Ebert actually wrote the script for it or something like that). Still have never seen it but I never forgot about it!!

If i remember right didn't satyricon drop off that tour? They definitely didn't play in LA... it's so damn long ago I can't remember what happened (it was well before the whole tour bus rape), but I think Nile joined the tour in place of Satyricon??? George is a killer drummer, but it ends there for me. CC Deville writes better solos than Karl, and Karl's solos seem that much more amateur and childish after watching Krisiun. That was also the same tour I saw the Krisium drummer yawn while blasting haha. Man I miss that era! Mid-90's through early 2000's were certainly the best era for DM/BM... err at least in my opinion. Going to see Morbid Angel and having no clue who At The Gates or Dissection were and being totally blown away! Watching Erik Hoffman punch Glen in the face out front of the Whisky, and Glen on stage with a huge shiner and some guy kept yelling "Glen!?! what happened? What's wrong with your eye!? Glen!?!?!" hahaha. Mayhem touring for Wolf's Lair, and guys jumping on stage and throwing the cow heads and pig heads into the crowd (My friend took one home and I think he still has it!). Vader playing Raining Blood and guys diving off the balcony at the Whisky. So many good shows and tours back then... and best of all??? No smartphones! No bullshit laptops with click tracks and synced lighting... Bands playing organically with so much more energy, and fans there to watch, mosh, and have fun... not a bunch of douchy kids checking in and recording the whole show in portrait (like an asshole) so they can upload the footage to their IG/TT as if people give a shit.

Since I am a big Necrophagia fan, I figured I would throw in my personal experience meeting Killjoy. Only got to see Necrophagia once, but it was great. I met Killjoy at the show and he was a really nice guy, but he was also pretty soft-spoken, which is kind of funny when you hear his vocals, as it is such a crazy difference. During the show, Killjoy kept holding the mic out to me and the guy next to me, as I guess we were clearly really into the show, so we got to sing along to a couple of songs like "Cannibal Holocaust". It was a hell of a lot of fun. Also got one of Shawn's drumsticks used during the show. He beat the hell out of that thing. Got him to sign it too. RIP Killjoy
