There's zero chance they would've excluded him from the embedded if they thought he was on the card. They already knew several days ago. No one thinks he's afraid to actually fight, but there is something fishy about a guy that seemingly never shuts his mouth going completely radio silent the moment he has the attention of the whole community. All he has to do is turn heel, and pulling out of a fight could complement a heel turn. Smells like UFC protecting one of their great white hypes. Garry is constantly recording himself, making video clips, etc. If he was well enough that he was 'trying to fight', and well enough to go through the UFC medical, then why isn't he well enough to record himself looking & sounding sick ? So he uncharacteristically stays off media, and we are just supposed to accept this excuse at face value .... Because the UFC stamp it ? And of course, the UFC have every reason to try and protect this guy .... He was going to be *destroyed* during the media day, pressers etc. He's weaponised cringe, the fans hate him, other fighters from multiple divisions are shitting on him .... As if that's bad enough, if he lost the fight that would really send his career down the shitter because you can't be a laughing stock AND on a losing streak. It's bittersweet cuz Luque vs Garry is an almost definite banger but I'm somewhat relieved because I love Luque and I'm also an Irish American (and I also think the current Garry clowning is unjust. The people who already hated him just got an excuse to make fun of him relentlessly). Split loyalties. Luque eventually winning the belt would make me as happy as Glover or Charles winning theirs did. And Garry eventually winning the belt, which I think is more likely than Luque since Garry is the next generation after the Usman/Leon/Covington/Burns/Belal/Luque/Holland/Neal era (Wonderboy is the previous era of WW and I'm so glad he was among those who stuck around), would be sweet for my pride in my heritage (I'm Boston Irish which counts more than other Irish Americans). The biggest obstacles to Garry are JDM and, even more so, the horse-eating Kazakh terminator. All in all, can't wait to see both of these guys fight again and best of luck to both of them.
