Nehru the blunder man was a nightmare, the damage he did can be still felt all over INDIA. He always tried to portray himself as a messenger of peace, damaging the country to shine his image. Gandhi did the same but the only difference was he didn't have power to take decisions.

Nehru has always done more harm to the country as anyone could think of. Because he was always portrayed as a strong leader in our textbooks. But he was the weakest and had done so many blunders in the past. He was also called as a secret puppet of China. He and Gandhi is the reason India has lost few Parts of Kashmir to Pakistan and China. He had a great involvement in partition of India into 5 different countries. But now people no longer stick to his ideology because everything is in the public domain that how he was involved in breaking the India apart and other anti national stuffs and came to know that history was taught in a distorted way. There are many who believe that India deserve a UNSC seat with current government but it wasnt ready for it before because the previous government wasnt serious about foreign affairs

India was offered UNSC seat by USA and at that time India was leading the NAM (Non Aligned Movement).

What is UNSC permenant membership has to do with NAM. It's like someone want's u to be CEO and u r like, I don't want to take sides so I reject the offer. Nehru did so many blunders we are ashamed.

See there are multiple factors to consider , instead of blaming Nehru for everything wrong today with India , though I too believe that Nehru was not fit for PM post , there are many of his decisions because of India faces so many issues today but to consider Nehru himself was some kind of puppet of West is wrong Note: that time West was less US more UK . Yes he was foolish to believe in fairy tales and was fully aligned with UK for most of the decisions . Still his multiple other decisions like IITs , Nuclear Power and Space science under Bhabha and Sarabhai and multiple others were the milestone for shaping India in positive way. For UNSC seat , there were many angles:- 1. India was 3% of world's GDP when British left , so to contribute in UNSC development as equal partner was hard but NOT IMPOSSIBLE. This reason was obvious but fun part was this reason was never quoted by Indian official Govt. but it was raised as highest mockery for India by the West (especially US) ( And US had its own geopolitical reason to do so as well because US believed in AXIS , if you are not friend than you foe ) That ' INDIA IS POOR ' and then followed others to mock India on each every occasion when they wanted something from it and India refused or was reluctant. 2. Most important point : Nehru knew Nationalist Mao and respected him as brother which was a good thing , he wanted to create an unbreakable bond of Friendship with China and Soviet Union and after WW2 ended with US emerged as super power with Nuclear bomb , US wanted to capitalize on this as much as possible as soon as possible , It wanted to make 'American Dream' a reality for the world which was good as Ideology but they way they implemented it uhmm lets say ' Failed ' for the most part . Their cold war enmity with Soviet Union led to most horrific geopolitical scenario where they wanted every other country to keep check on their neighbour . European leaders understood this and united themselves democratically but this was not possible for Africa , Asia , and Middle East to comprehend . So yes US had shown interest for India to join UNSC but it was not a proper offer , but still if Nehru showed interest maybe US would stand with India but there was no guarantee and if Nehru had shown interest for UNSC seat at cost of china , it could have affected the relationship. 3. It is very common to know that Nehru admired British imperialism after Independence and was not very happy with US decisions to bomb Hiroshima and Nakasaki and Fun Fact British Imperialism envied US rise after America's Civil war for Independence but they were not foolish , Nehru ( people appeaser ) thought it was a good move to not align with US to appease Kingship of England , CHINA , And Soviet Union. 4. US witnessed Nehru's stance towards Mao and was perturbed but So was Soviet Union , cause as China will progress it will pose threat for Soviet Union as well . Soviet union knew China's land grabbing plan very well because they themselves believed in it , it made China a their natural enemy. Nehru was foolish to analyse this geopolitical scenario and the gift of opportunity on his hands. Also Nehru was of opinion that the Nation who believes in peace does not need any ARMY and advocated the ideas NOT to invest in army instead to invest on development of country which was good in theory not reality. But he very well knew the dangers of Pakistan , so he dreamed to create a INDO CHINA bond for protection where chinese will protect India in Future from external aggressions also China is nearer to India in geography than Soviet Union so it is easier and faster to get from China in hour of need than any other nation. Well the foolish dream broke in 1962. The foolishness of Nehru was that He did not respected opportunity and Power because he could not think otherwise , Let's say if Nehru had shown his interest for UNSC seat then yes Mao would have angry for a while but India after getting seat in UNSC could have played a better role for peace and friendship in the region and Mao would have understood Nehru's vision in better light. China knowing India as UNSC member would never have dared to attack on India for a peace of land and same goes for Pakistan.
