Why did the SD Rising Freedom have to be EX Standard?

I just realised there's been a trend when it comes to SD releases. They release the initial lead MS via EX Standard and then release the upgrade as a CS kit. Happened with G Witch (Aerial got an EX while Calibarn is getting a CS) and has happened again with Seed Freedom, with Rising getting an EX and MSF is getting a CS

SDEX is fun to customize tho especially if you're fond of SD line. I have customized a lot of RX 78 SDEX into a SD GM custom. I also customized an Exia into Exia Repair. The line really need more effort and not all may want to do that for an SD.

I'm glad people are finding joy in that line. I personally don't like it because it's just Bandai half assing yet again; but what you said about customizing them is a very good use of them.

I get the hate for SDEX. I curse myself for buying them too. I just can't get over how good their proportions are compared to the BB Senshi stuff. SDCS is much better but for the asking price, you'd rather get a nice HG at that point.

Talk about how good Bandai plastic is, that a 20 year old kit hasn't horribly yellowed. Unlike Hasbro plastic that can show up yellowed right from the factory.

The Rising Freedom was my first experience with an SD Kit, and while it's certainly lacking I honestly loved the experience of building it, even placing the stickers was fun cause they were easier to place than HG or RG stickers. That being said I can see how it kinda is a downgrade compared to that 2000s Freedom lol

Lots of the older SD Seed kits have gotten re-releases lately if you want to check some out.

the sdex line just feels like a cheap cash grab line in general ngl, the only good thing from it seems are the proportions

I was gonna pass on this kit, but then I saw a 3D printed upgrade resin kit available for it....I don't even care how bad this kit originally is XD

I honestly would like sdex way more if those legs werent so hollow, also would be better if the weapons were thicker

the only good sdex is aerial gundam. i wanna mention sazabi too but it has better sd bb senshi kits with a lot of stuffs it offers than sdex

That's why I never picked up the Sazabi or the Nu Gundam. They both have superior versions.

EX Aerial is still pretty bad, the lack of yellow on the chest is by far the worst because yellow is super hard to paint, not to mention you have to add rhe permet stickers over that.
