Absolutely loved this authentic Switzerland farm house!!! Such hard working people!!! I was surprised to see that they had indoor plumbing!!! I loved their food storage cellar!!! I am amazed that the raw wood, which the home was constructed with, has held up as well as it has in the elements of the country!!! Sad that the authentic wooden furniture couldn’t be saved & restored 😰 The beautiful account desk’s, called secretary desks in the U.S., were awesome!!! The gorgeous wooden single, carved bed was a delight to see!!! I was happy to see that family had removed the memorabilia from the home, as that can ever be replaced!!! What a quaint, pristine, simple place it was in its day👍🙏❤️ Thank you William for being such a great friend & companion of Leslie!!! I am sooo very glad that you have been able to accompany him on his explorations around Europe!!! Most of the places that he explores, are sooo very dangerous & decayed!!! Thank you for being there for him👍🙏❤️ Thank both of you guys for sharing this & your many wonderful adventures with us!!! I’m sooo very glad that you have a van to travel in & be your home on wheels 👍🙏❤️ Thank you for all of your wonderful things that you explore, that I, being handicapped & old, will never be able to! God bless you!!!❤️❤️❤️

Leslie, I was born, worked and lived in Aargau, Switzerland until seven years ago. I was a community nurse and often had senior patients that still lived in those kind of houses. Often they added bathrooms in the 1960s and more modern stoves, but the rest stayed the same. Why you found bundled news papers? We Swiss bundle them for recycling! Every few months the school children in the villages are collecting them (on a school day) with their carts and we make sure the bundles are easy to handle and not to heavy! Adieu from Cape Town

Hello hello, dear Lesley, What a wonderful video again from my home country! I so much enjoyed watching you explore this really old farm house. I do agree to you, that this is a genuine Swiss farm house. I only wonder, why this location is merely left there abandoned, because farmers usually have sons or grandsons, who would take over the property, - obviously in this special case not! Although it is partially falling apart and decaying, there were still some rooms which were looking so timecapsule like, - frozen in time! - But I even had the impression, that this house was already quite advanced and therefore comfortable to live in, because they already had a bathtub, shower, etc. - Also the oven in the kitchen was not so old, and over all they had electricity, which makes a lot much easier! The underground cave with the bottles left inside was also for me something special to see, - and I also think that this cave was built in former times, when refridgerators were not yet invented, to store food and keep it fresh this way. - I loved your facial expression, when you were smelling the bottle, ..so funny, hahaha..! - This Mofa, you found in the shed, were used in the 1960ies and 80ies, and I vividly remember them. They are called "VESPA". - Wonderfully preserved living room and bedrooms! I especially liked that stove with the green tiles. - It was once more a pure pleasure to follow you and William in mind through the abandoned rooms of this farm house. - You were showing so much respect, when focussing on many details like the clothes the letters and much more! - I especially became such a happy feeling, when you said, how much you like Switzerland and exploring here. So, my dearest friend Lesley, you are of course again so very welcome at my place, when you come to Switzerland for the next time!! I sincerely hope from my deepest heart, that our dear friend Maureno could finally return home to his parents and friends! Thank you so very much for this wonderful explore, - and God bless you and your friends! - Stay safe, peace and kindest regards from now very hot and sunny Switzerland.

I'm relieved to hear that Maureno will finally be able to return home, I hope he doesn't feel badly or embarrassed about his experience. He's not the first person to have something crazy happen, that's why everyone says what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. 😉 I am so obsessed with Swiss architecture now, especially the way the fireplaces are incorporated into the center of the homes. It's incredible. It's such a beautifully built home. It's 200 years old and it's still fairly sturdy. I'm not going to bore everyone with my complaints about how there is a lack of pride in craftsmanship in the modern world, but they really don't build them like this anymore.

Hi Lesley & William, this is pretty decayed house, with ceilings falling in, but still had so much furniture & things in cabinets & clothes in closets...its a shame soon will all be no good! Ok what does it say on your jacket...OD OTEREN? Now entering the house love the Switzerland stoves & the wood circles. Here the Blacksmith Festivals took those circles & left the bark from trees around it, but soldered your name or what ever you wanted on the round wood circles! Yes, that motorized bicycle is here in Rantoul, Illinois USA, 3 in fact because if you lose your license to drive a Vehicle from getting caught drinking alcohol, now men are using these...haha! Yes the saying is the same here about the Horseshoe & if it looks like a U it is said to bring you luck in your house or barn, or garage! Thanks so much for another journey to Switzerland & this abandoned house!! Take care & stay safe both of you on the road & going thru the abandoned houses! Love from Rantoul, Illinois USA

@@lindatimmons3675 Maureno was arrested in Las Vegas Nevada. He was charged with aggravated assault on a homeless. He was having hallucinations I was taking for treatment. He is of the age when many illnesses begin to manifest. I am very concerned for all these Urban explorers not having PPE. Mold and fungus can do permanent damage both mentally and physically. I have seen no other updates on Maureno.

I believe what you were calling an underground cave is a cellar. We had one in the country in Missouri like that. It is good to get out of storms too. I love that one. It was very nice. I love the way the Swiss built with wood. In the central part of the US they also build with a lot of wood like that.

I live in Missouri in the tornado belt and also have lived in Europe. They don't need storm cellars as they don't have tornadoes. They would need a warm air source like the Gulf of Mexico to get things rolling. I have no shelter here in Carthage and would have to run to the jail !!

What a nice exploration, Lesley! I watched a lot of your videos and I have to say, I love to see those more common places too. I also love how affectionate you are towards the houses, and whatever you find inside. I live in an old half-timbered house in a neighbouring canton this farm house is in. We mainly heat with a similar stove from before/around 1800. There are still experts here who can maintain and fix them. To heat upstairs, the chimney was once part of a wall - now in the middle of a room so it can give off heat there too. We even have an integrated smokehouse in the attic that can be regulated from 2 storeys below in the kitchen where you make the fire for the stove. I'd soo invite you over to show it to you if you were in the country again 😅
