The art of the T-rex sent shivers up my spine. The only times movies show a dinosaur staring directly forward at the camera is when it's making some posterboard shot where it roars at you, bares its teeth, trying to be scary and whatnot. But this photo of a silent dinosaur that's just staring straight at you is just so much more terrifying. How has no movie capitalized on this?

But it didn’t, that art wasn’t scary at all, I’m fact it’s just a large lizard. Unlike our forefathers who lived without what we have. I’m convinced of Dino’s we’re running around today you’d have humans hunting them for sport. You can’t tell me a T-Rex is gonna win against you and your buddies with steel slugs and oversized elephant rifles, or ideally a .50 BMG. Use a drone to track it down from above from over 3 miles away, then I’m loose it by shooting its knees and taking it to the ground. Or just go for the eyes. So yea it would be scary if it’s running at you, but you could easily take it down with the right tools, and then get yourself a nice T-Rex Skull to mount on a wall or something.

@@trevor3194 It would still be terrifying to have these animals casually walking around in woods, forests, jungles, plains, mountains, etc.. Yes obviously it wouldn’t end all of humanity or anything. But it would definitely change the way of life for a lot of people who live closer to the wilderness or in the wilderness. We are talking about much much bigger carnivorous threats than what we already have today. The fact you would need to carry such a large gun with you every time you decide to go out into the wilderness, it would just change the way things would usually work today. I mean even large Brown Bears today can handle some pretty powerful shotgun blasts and still continue running/charging. Some guns have proven to not be very effective against them, which calls for more specific kind of firearms, and of course proper aim with them. Now imagine causally having to deal with Tyrannosaurs or other theropods in those situations…. It would significantly change how certain things would work today. And much more fatalities on humans by wild animals would occur if certain groups of humans continued living the way they do today. It would be terrifying and sad. No one is talking about an all out war between humans and dinosaurs…. By the way everything I’ve said would also apply to the aquatic wilderness as well…

You guys know what is even scarier than an adult T.rex? A Juvenile/Adolescent T.rex, small enough to sneak into places that the adult can't reach, light enough to run much faster than it heavy adult counterpart, and big enough to kill you.

@catpoke9557
@catpoke9557 Жыл бұрын
@@fransthefox9682 This is technically possible but not likely since we've yet to find any evidence of it, and it would likely be present not just in T. rex but in many other dinosaurs as well since the benefit is that the young can use their feathers to regulate temperature while the adults don't need it- this would mean other large dinosaurs would likely have the same adaptation. But we have yet to see this in any, which is why it's typically assumed T. rex and other dinos did not have this adaptation. However since it's not impossible I have no problem with this speculation. But, note that they would lose a lot of this fluff pretty much as soon as they reach a size where they could be a real threat. They might not lose all of it, but they probably wouldn't be super fluffy anymore either. Also... remember that feathers make an animal no less frightening anyways, haha! Ever seen an eagle? They look SUPER fierce. They're mostly fluff, but that fluff contours in a way that gives them an even SCARIER appearance than they'd have without said fluff. It is possible the same could be said for T. rex.

Imagine that t rex stalking you for hours. Watching. Waiting. As it circles you from afar, not once does it take its eyes off you. In this moment you are 110 percent stuffed and have no idea. And when it is finally done sizing you up, it stands still, after walking for hours, and watches intently. All of a sudden it moves again, swiftly making long strides towards you. But without making a sound. The only thing you hear is a slight pounding in the back of your head from the vibrations in the ground, until you turn around to the sound of heavy breathing and fast movements in the undergrowth. Then you see it charging at you without unlocking it's eyes from yours. It's as if it knows EXACTLY what to do to catch you. Edit: most likes I've ever got, and ngl nice people in comments for a change

You then take out your flare and light its plumage aflame. It howls and screeches as you unload your t rex killer rounds into its flesh. Afterwards you blind it with your t rex spray and watch it bulldoze into several trees in a panic as it eventually breaks its legs on one and stumbles down. You then go to its flailing body, unzip your pants and piss on its face as you put one shot into its eye. You turn around as you zip back up your pants and sigh. What another worthless creature, stumbling through your land and scaring off the deer. You reload your t rex boom stick as you search with your drone overhead.

A Thing a lot of people don’t get about the T-Rex in Jurassic park and it’s “movement vision” thing is it wasn’t an actual T-Rex. It was a mutant creature designed to resemble a T-Rex. There were plenty of other genetic weirdos in the original novel, such as a raptor that randomly changed colors.
@kingol4801
@kingol4801 Жыл бұрын
Yep. Also, it was “50/50”. Science could only take them so far. They needed to fill in gaps with random stuff to make it work, sacrificing many things in the process (making them lizards due to frog dna etc). So, it is not that they did not want to make them authentic, but more so that they COULD NOT make them such with all tech in the world. They would not survive otherwise (remember IRL cloned mammoth, right?). But THEN, after they had success and their creations survived, they messed some more and selected a prefect mix to make them more intimidating/behaviorally appropriate to their “role” in nature. So, their pool of dino versions was limited by nature of experiment. And THEN they narrowed it down out of the feasible ones to whichever they wanted. They were not “edgy mutants”, but more so just the best they could make, really. I mean, if their only two choices were to mix T-Rex with chicken to survive (as well as retain it’s OG appearance) but mess-up it’s aggressive behavioral profile OR mix T-Rex with frog to survive and retain it’s aggressive behavior (but screw it’s appearance), they would trivially pick the latter. Who would want to see T-Rex if it behaved like a dumb boring cow, right? To conclude, they were not some overly monstrous creatures/mutants, but simply imperfect designs that barely got by to resemble/act as how they should.

I actually think the larger saurpods would've been gentle giants. They are much larger, meaning they need to spend more time eating and probably weren't that agile. So it wouldn't make sense for a larger saurpod to have a fit. It'd wouldn't pay off and could actually exhaust and hurt the animal, making it ironically an easier target. The smaller saurpods... were probably the only ones who would've thrown said tantrums due to the fact they actually had reason, and the energy to do so.

I'm glad this guy went back in time for us to study all these dinosaurs to know stuff that literally can only be known if you were there.

I'm leaning more towards wings The only sensical reason all these Dino's have tiny front arms that are seemingly useless, if they had hollow bones in their wings we wouldn't know because they don't fossilize so were left with dino's with stumps for arms

A Shepard sized dog or even smaller can make us feel that primal fear. Even an angry cat is no joke. But to imagine a lizard as big as me or as a truck. I've had dogs all my life, but they can still catch you off guard. It is hard to imagine dinos for the size alone...
