Why DJI ACTION 4 is still the Superb ACTION CAMERA and Insta360 ACE PRO isn't

I have been going back and forth to decide between the Insta360 Ace Pro and the DJI Action 4. I want simple and I don't see myself color grading anything. I will be recording travel, hiking, and rollerskating mostly. Most of the content I shoot is for IG Reels, TikTok, and KZbin shorts. In other words, I will use it for many vertical shots and posting on the go. What is your recommendation? I do like the big screen on the Ace Pro.

Hi, Yes, it is not easy to decide which camera. Both are good and I understand you like the screen on the Ace Pro. When it comes to ease of use and quality, I have no doubt that Dji Action 4 is the best choice. Then if I should recommend a camera, it's easy for me. Dji Action 4 is the best choice. Well, if I were to recommend you the best combination, I would have Dji Action 4 and Dji Pocket 3. I would not have chosen any of the GoPro cameras. If they are what you have or want in what you write. Then I would have chosen Pocket 2 and Action 3. If you are going to invest in new cameras, yes, then I would have bought Pocket 3 and Action 4. Insta360 needs to fix this focusing issue on the Ace Pro. That's why I returned it for the Pocket 3.

If You have X3000 in good condition without focus issues, leave it as a backup. It is still great camera :)

The Dji Action 4 is the best action camera you can buy right now. But I wouldn't sell your sony fdr x3000, that camera has almost gained cult status. I love my x3000 camera. Thanks for watching 😀

@@violetka_vlog even though I bought hero 11 (I don't think it's better than x3000 in every respect), I kept x3000, precisely because it's worth having a spare camera! Sell ​​for how much? 150 euros if you're lucky. For such a good camera that can handle very poor conditions, it's a shame to sell it, especially if someone has had a fixed focus issue (like me) or has never had this happen to them.

We play artificial field matches with my friends between 21-22 in the evening. Unfortunately, there is no video recording on the field we play on, so I want to buy a headband and record these matches on video. I generally saw that everyone uses GoPro, but alternatives such as Ace Pro and Osmo 4 attract my attention. Which one would you recommend? Thanks for looking, well that's not an easy question. Both Action 4 and Ace Pro are better cameras than GoPro. I think the Action 4 is a slightly better camera than the Ace Pro. But if you film more in the evening when there is not good light. Then the Ace Pro may be the best camera. It has a setting called Pure Video Mode which is incredibly good. The only downside is that you have a maximum of 30fps in that mode. Dji probably has the widest field of view, Ace Pro follows right behind. Hi, Im curious which stabilisation you prefer on Action 4 for hiking. I saw one older video when compared with Action 2 RS and Action 4 RS+ on darker ares. on brighter did you use normal RS or A4 too? I just bought both not long ago used, for very cheap and only been to hiking with A2 with full auto on low light which made the half footage a disaster. so next time I take both on manual. just curious what stabilisation you prefer. Im planning to use 4k 30, and d-log on A4. thank you!

Hi😀 I always use normal RS, it works very well and delivers good results, with RS+, the camera will crop in the image quite a bit and I don't quite see the difference in stabilization. Now it is the case that stabilization is completely dependent on good lighting conditions to deliver the best possible stabilization and image quality. I will possibly only use RS+ during extreme action activities. 4K 30 fps with D-log then you will get the best from the camera, but again depending on how good you are at color grading. But D-Log looks very good. And with 10 bit you can do quite extreme color grading. I shoot a lot in normal profile, looks good. But I will now start testing some ND filters for the Action 4. @@EspenJohan thank you very much, I will give it a go next time, will try the horizon balancing too a bit as I tend to lean side to side a lot while pushing myself up on a mountain 😁 but I will try to see the rock steady first. Color grading sounds fun so j will try at least. I usually use raw photos too and fixing it to myself keep me busy 😁

I wanted to get DJI pocket 3 but it's out of stock everywhere, so I am now thinking to get one between DJI Action 4 and Insta36 Ace Pro. I watched a lot of comparison videos about this two and was leaning toward Insta 360 Ace Pro but after watching this video it shows DJI Action 4 has much better video quality over Insta360 Ace Pro. I see Ace Pro is better at night mode. How do you think? Is it true from your testing?

Have heard that many people say Pocket 3 is out of stock in many places. It's a fantastic camera. For me, it's important that people make up their own minds about which camera they want. I have both Ace Pro and Dji Action 4, I bought both with my own money. So I can say what I mean and test them as I want. I have no doubt that the Dji Action 4 is a better camera than the Ace Pro. Dji Action 4 has better image quality, better color reproduction, 10 bit and real flat profile with D-Log M. Ace Pro has Pure video mode which works very well, but that's the only one. Is that, the absolute most important thing for you. Then the Ace Pro can be a good camera. But that's only in poorly lit places. But Dji is not bad in poorly lit places. If I were to recommend a camera, the Dji Action 4 is undoubtedly the best.

nice comparison what do you think about 2 cameras after firmware update also prefer normal or d log m? are you sure that d log m is not better after firmware update? only normal take update on deitails?

Hi 😀Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Well, as you have probably realized, I believe without a doubt that the Dji Action 4 is a better camera than the Ace Pro. As I see it, it is normal color where you can see improvements after the update, this also only applies to 30fps and below. Possibly this also applies to D-Log M, I'm not good at color grading. As possible therefore normal looks better. But I honestly think that the dynamic range looks better in the normal profile

But now, the Instant 360 x4 came out, and I am confused again 😲 I know they serve different purposes. Just curious for your opinion (its well respected 🙂). I am glad that my videos have helped you. The Dji Action 4 is a much better camera than the Ace Pro. I'm not saying the Ace Pro is a bad camera. Well personally I'm not a big fan of 360 camera, X4 looks good. But you don't have 10 bit or a proper log profile like you have on Action 4. And the X4 looks a bit fragile, with lenses that protrude far from the camera body. And from what I have seen of videos so far, the single lens on the X4 is not as good as the Action 4. But it depends entirely on your use, whether you want a camera that can give you a little more creativity. Yes, then the X4 could be a good choice. But if I could choose between the two, then the choice would have been Action 4. Good luck and thank you for watching my videos 😀

In your videos, dji looks better but the sharpness is horrible, too much and the ace pro is too soft(not to mention the focus which prioritises the background more than your face). sharpness seems to be slightly improved when using d-log. is there any lower sharpness in normal colour mode in action 4? But remember that you have 10 bit on the action 4. Ace pro still struggle with focus. For me the action 4 is the clear winner. Thanks for watching 😀

​​@@EspenJohan what's your thought about the Action 4 with lower resolution compared to the 360 or Gopros? Basically half the resolution and that's a big thing when you look at the differences. How does it stand up video wise on big tvs? Gotta remember now a days its common to have tvs that is between 60 and 75 inches. So to me that lower resolution can be reason to get one of the others.

I don't know what type of antiflicker eye you all got but AC4 just flickers constantly I can't even watch the footage of the Dji. And the night mode on DJI is useless. Pocket3 is the best from DJI by far better colour on the ACE pro too the forest looked very grey and poor contrast for the AC4

And that you have 10 bit on action 4 gives you more to work with. And ace pro has more noise in the image, difficult to see on youtube. But it's not a bad camera at all.
