Have a local restaurant that has very inconsistent hours. We tried to go there to try it a couple times but they were always closed. Then we stopped trying. Food trucks are even harder because they are even harder to track down for non-tech savy customers. Having consistency for where you will be and when really helps some customers find you. If you aren't there when customers expect you to be they may stop coming.

Disagreed. I have returning customers who follow our trucks since we are a roaming food truck. Events are posted at least a week in advance with preorders being set in advance. We even have the delivery platforms pick up from our truck. It depends on how you run your business.

My idea for a roaming food truck is to be very present on social media like Twitter to let people know where we are. Also, have a Google tracker on the vehicle made available to the public. So when they Google the truck itll show up on maps

My wife’s family owns Thai food carts. The number one thing that will shut you down is not opening on time and inconstant hours. You have to realize not everyone can go to your food cart Monday to Friday. In Portland for example. A lot of people live outside of Portland and can only visit on the weekends. Saturday most carts are open. Sunday it’s the worse. I gave up on getting my heart set on a food cart. 8 times out of 10 they are closed and have no signs up.

I am thinking about a new type of restaurants: eating-spots in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate this is opposed to current restaurants, thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are more powerful than restaurants, along with that, there is an app, people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app.

My mom always says people eat with their eyes first, I have seen firsthand in East LA, taco stands survive because the big difference between taco trucks and taco stands is the visibility of meat being cooked. Thats the only thing people want, is to see how and what is being cooked, the smell is second, when that warm cooked air wafts over you of simmered shredded beef with the strongest beef scent your nostrils ever inhaled. Your stomach rumbles then you order 5 instead of 3 you were gonna order. I remember always Hank and the Guys grilling meat outside that cult house and ALL the girls were lulled at the gates lmao
