Many foreigners living in Cambodia have positive views and appreciate the culture, the friendly local people, and the overall lifestyle. They’re often drawn by the country's affordability, beautiful landscapes, and the welcoming communities they encounter. For most, the experience doesn’t match the negative stereotypes or sensationalized stories that sometimes circulate abroad. Instead, they find a place rich in culture and opportunities, where they feel connected and accepted.

@heatherbao53272 ай бұрын
Yes they are! Majority of thai are trying so hard to ruin Khmer reputation. I know five languages and I do understand thai, they are harassing Khmer culture and people in a very rude way . Can’t believe how rude and races they are in this generation.

I'm of khmer decent. All my life I've always heard negative things being said by Thai people...historicaly, there's been a lot of "static" between Khmer and Siam. It's like sibling rivalry i think. I also always wondered what if the genocide never happened, or the Vietnam War never happened...Cambodia was so pushed back in terms of modernizing. So much history and wisdom was lost. The whole infrastructure of our society was critically damaged. But hey, we're still here, we're coming back!! We need to get rid of Hun Sen tho!! Scumbag

The reason is that foreigners come to visit Cambodia to understand Cambodia in terms of culture and way of life from ancient times to the present. Compassion for the same people, no caste

And the Cambodian people are united, know how to help each other and be tolerant. But if the enemy invades, the Cambodian people are united from oppression, stand up and take up arms against the enemy in every battle

Traveling in Cambodia is extreme cheap compare to going to Japan or Korea. The tuk tuk, make sure you bargain a little. I like the fact Cambodia accept U.S dollars. Make sure you change your currency. Cash is a must when traveling in the rural area. As a tourists in the rural area, yes it's hard to get around. But if you a resident, it's easy to get around. I cant wait to travel there again.

Yes, the Khmer can be very lovely people and very friendly and welcoming, but yeah, I think that they did, “lay it on thick” specifically because they were being interviewed. One thing that should be addressed (and isn’t) is the difference between the “truly poor people” who ought to be helped financially or otherwise, (and I have) and those that tend to be professional beggars. I met a guy working outside of a restaurant recently who had “no hands”, absolute legend, what a man, total respect, (he was working, not begging) but then you’ll get some who stand right beside you in a public place, trying to shame you, demand that you give them something, and if it is “too small” they will drop it on the ground in disgust. Some people won’t like me addressing this issue, but it should be, openly and fairly.
@timfallas2 ай бұрын
@@bigroundwatermelon6456I think it’s important that you mention entitled beggars. I’m Cambodian-American and have met many awful and greedy Cambodians. I have also met many kind-hearted Cambodians. People need to expect reality when traveling anywhere. Scammers exist in every country.
