Correction in Notation of Atom: The Atomic mass number is written above the atomic symbol and the atomic number is written as a subscript below. In this video, I made a mistake of showing them in a wrong manner (because of the use of some non-standard periodic table at that time🤦🏼♂️😅) My apology for the same🙏🏼

You did help me out with this, thank you. I do have one question with regard to pH. I know a pH of 7 is neutral, 7.5 is more alkaline or base, and 6.5 is more acidic. That being said, which has more positively charged H ions, and what does that look like. I know this question may sound ridicules, to some, but chemistry has always been a struggle, because I can’t seem to sort this one out.

@@the_bioway As I am hard of hearing, I must say that I and perhaps others would benefit from the use of *closed captions* . I think any youtube video which deals with science, medicine, biology, or indeed any subject which has its own specialized vocabulary would benefit from closed captions.

Sir, thank you for this, but I have to say that I am hard of hearing and could benefit from *closed captions* . (auto-generated ones might be better than none, but are not good for scientific concepts and words) Lacking true or script-based closed captions, it could be alternatively useful if the text of what you have said could be added to the 'show more/show less' description for your video(s).
@the_bioway5 жыл бұрын
I'm glad that this was helpful for you... And I'll definitely try to incorporate the suggestion of closed caption in future videos.

So if l understand correctly. Hydrogen alone is not called a protan; it is only called a protan if it makes a specific reaction in which it loses it e- ?

This doesn't apply to each and every atoms. In the case of hydrogen atom as it loses or gains electron it becomes more reactive.

Can hydrogen protons be independent by themselves? How do fusion reactors get hydrogen protons, or they use the entire hydrogen gas?
@the_bioway Жыл бұрын
1. Hydrogen protons can exist independently by themselves, but they are very reactive and tend to bond with other atoms or molecules. 2. In a fusion process, two lighter atomic nuclei combine to form a heavier nucleus, while releasing energy. Fusion reactors generally use heavy hydrogen isotopes such as deuterium and tritium, which react more easily than protium (the most common hydrogen isotope). Fusion reactors do not use the entire hydrogen gas, but rather separate the isotopes from natural sources of hydrogen, such as water or lithium

Thanks! One more question so I can be sure I totally understood this system. It would be nice if you answered: Let's say we have in a system COOH and R-NH2; we know that the N from R-NH2 can under specific circumstances make four instead of the usual three bonds. I have seen that if this N makes the fourth bond, it catches the H+ (proton) from the COOH. My question is now, I know in the end we have COO- and R-NH3+; When the reaction takes place, is it like the H from the COOH leaves its e- behind to COO- and that is why we have the (-) in COO-? And the H+ from the COOH, does it attach to the free electron pair of the N?

sir can i know how a electron is removed from its orbit
@the_bioway7 жыл бұрын

@mwkgrafiti35906 жыл бұрын
It has to do with the electronegativity of an atom. Atoms are likely to attain a fully filled outermost shell(Octet rule), and they do so by sharing, gaining or loosing electrons. Now, atoms with high electronegativity (mostly non metals ) have a high electronegativity and tend to gain electrons, on the other hand, atoms with low electronegativity (metals) tend to give up their electrons.
@neerajpandey98625 жыл бұрын
so why the hydrogen is not gaining electron instead of losing electron

Why does hydrogen ion hasnt an electron?
@the_bioway5 жыл бұрын
Sorry... But I'm not getting your questions
@Ayushhumai4 жыл бұрын
You need to clarify that what kind of ion it is: If it is negative ion then there is electron in it if it is a positive ion it does not have any electron because to become positive it gives its electron to the combining atom which is the only electron in it therefore there is no electron after electron transfer. Hope i am correct!!!!!!!!!
