Why Do I Experience Fatigue with Neurologic Conditions?

Fatigue can manifest in different ways depending on the underlying neurological issue. In one case, a young girl with a convergence spasm (crossed eyes) was expending excessive energy trying to process the conflicting visual inputs, leading to fatigue. By addressing the underlying vestibular and balance issues, her brain could operate more efficiently, reducing fatigue and allowing her to resume normal activities.
In another case, a patient had impaired cerebral blood flow due to autonomic reflex dysfunction, limiting the fuel (oxygen and nutrients) reaching the brain. The patient's cerebral perfusion improved by retraining the autonomic reflexes through specific exercises, providing more energy for the brain to function properly and reducing fatigue.
The key point is that fatigue can arise from the brain working inefficiently and wasting energy, or from insufficient fuel reaching the brain to sustain activity. Addressing the root neurological cause can improve brain efficiency or increase cerebral blood flow, thereby alleviating the debilitating fatigue symptom.

Hi, could you please outline some of the autonomic retraining exercises for the 2nd case from this video, with getting the deep breathing to cause a response?? I keep telling people it feels like my autonomic nervous system just doesn't respond to stimulus and the environment. Slow deep breathing doesn't do anything to slow my heart rate, even when resting. Resting rate is commonly over 120bpm, even though heart tests say everything is fine. I've never been an anxious person so the heart rate drives me nuts. I am diagnosed with the usual EDS, POTS, MCAS, plus some bonus things like Tarlov cysts and Pars defect. Thank you so much for everything you're doing.

First and foremost thank u so much for all of these videos u have made on pots and the symptoms, being that i have the worst insurance i can not find any doctor that can treat my pots or willing to treat me for my pots ( just diagnosed with pots on 11/30/2023 ) so im having to do as much research as i can to treat myself. My question is this, for many years ( im talking probably the last 10 to 15 years ) i have had ongoing ear problems. There has been years where i literally have had close to 20 to 30 ear infections over the year ( the ent doesnt believe me but if i were to gather all my records from all the urgent care visits and pcp visits i can prove that ) they r saying that its eczema that i have in my ear canals, so what happens is the eczema flares up causing my ears to itch extremely bad so of course i itch them, then that turns into what im told is pretty much a yeast infection in my ears and then treated with drops and sent on my way. Could my ear issues that i have had for so many years now b a cause or reason that would increase my pots symptoms?

Viruses in general, I think, not just covid. Virus causing brain damage? I’m no doc though. I had Dengue Fever virus 20+ yrs ago and during the week and half I was going through the acute symptoms my brain felt like it was cracking open. It was excruciating. Fatigue and Pots ever since.

If you have any data on why people are getting Pots after being diagnosed with Covid would be interesting. I’m looking on the fringe this is going to sound nuts and if there could be legal papers drawn up I would be willing to do a trial where they medically put me to death and hopefully shock me back like rebooting a computer to see if my autonomic system would go back to normal. I can’t be the only one that’s thinking this way. I’m actually going to bring this up with my Dr, Dr Robert Wilson Cleveland Clinic. I have two appointments with him next two months. I know it sounds extreme but if it works or something is learned by it that’s my true hopes.

No doctor will consent to that I’m afraid ,even with your consent and legal papers. The doctor would be struck off.
