That is the most perfect explanation. My cousin doesn’t understand when I tell her when I stand up I see black dots for like 2 seconds and get dizzy. Maybe I’ll say this and she’ll understand.

+Pikapetey Oh yes! Those stars which move is mesmerising ways across your vision... It often occurs to me when I exert myself too much. I play the flute and when I hold a note for too long and am out of breath I see those white dots... I wonder if they are related to the blood pressure drop around the eyes. Like when astronauts' vision deteriorates when in space because of pressure changes around the optic nerve, the increased blood pressure in some individuals could have a similar effect!

I'm 16 (Nearly 17), this happened too often for me so I went to my doctor who told me to document when and how things happened. I noticed a few things, I would get a head rush when I got up from the sofa or my chair while I was doing something mundane like watching KZbin or the TV. I would get insane head rushes after I got up from intense study sessions, I had one where I fell backwards after my vision tunneled out and one where I cant even remember what happened but I woke up on the ground with a bruise on my left arm. I would NEVER get a head rush if I jumped up from my chair after some Gaming (I play FPS games on PC and they're kinda hectic in the sense they get your adrenaline levels up) And then we started talking about diet and a fter a brief discussion of Sugar, Caffine and Nicotine (I don't smoke or vape btw) he told me that I need to cut out energy drinks from my diet as fast as possible. It took around 2 weeks and then I was home free and these head rushes have completely subsided. That's my story. Hope it helps :)

I fainted once after donating blood. I felt the dizziness sitting up. Next thing I know, I'm dreaming. At this moment I think I'm at home sleeping, dreaming I was swimming underwater, and I heard faint voices in the distance. As I swam up, I woke up, and was terrified because I forgot everything, being at the mall, donating blood... The nurses were surrounding me with ice packs and telling me to stay with them. I was in the same stretcher as before, so I began panicking thinking I was in a terrible accident. And then it rushed back to me that I had just donated blood. My boyfriend came with me, he said my head starting bobbing and that I layed down. He said my eyes began twitching like I was having a seizure and the whole experience has traumatized him from ever giving blood xD Before that, I was like you and never fainted before, just got dizzy. It was pretty terrifying for me though!

One day I opened my eyes and I was shock that I was sleeping at the couch and I was nude and had soap all over me and could hear the shower still running even though , no one was there . So I knew I was sleeping walking taking a shower and got out the shower without raising off because I think I was dizzy that's why I got out. And then Łìê down on the sofa

After getting over a cold. I took a hot shower and tried washing my hair. I notice anytime I stood up straight I felt faint. After ignoring this and hurrying to finish showering. I wipe my face and open my eyes to almost everything fading to black, just a small blurry circle I could see through. I felt like I couldn't breathe as much. And it felt like I was about to drop to the floor. I knew I needed to get somewhere cold. I immediately found a corner with ac coming out the vent. I sat down to the floor back against the wall and leaned my head closer to the vent. After like 10mins of relaxing there I got up but still felt dizzy so I drank some water and sat in a cold spot again. Finally after a few more minutes I didn't feel faint. I wounder if it was because I had a cold, with a cough like spell, I had just got over a few hours ago was what caused the faint like feeling. Everything fading to black was the scariest part.

Once I stood up too quickly and I actually did fall down. It was very strange. Everything started going in slow motion. My vision went blurry and I could only hear a whooshing sound in my ears. I also couldn’t feel anything. For some reason, I remember thinking about the Milky Way and questioning my own existence. But then it ended when I face planted the ground and got an extremely bad carpet burn around my eye.

I get this feeling all the time, except my body also shakes and the first time it happened I was really scared. Because I got up to leave my room and then suddenly got super dizzy, my vision was going spotty black/gray, and then I found myself desperately trying to stay upright against the wall while my body shook and my head banged against the wall several times. All the while I couldn't see anything I could just feel my body uncontrollably hitting the wall. It was really weird and scary but I was too scared to tell my mother about it so I really don't know what caused it. That happened a while ago now when I was younger. That's my story :)

You need to relax, not everything is going to harm you doe. If you feel like that just sit, breathe, wait until you feel ok and stand up patiently, then try to eat something sweet. I fainted one time because I felt weird, couldn't found a chair and I didn't wanted to sit on the floor because I thought that was weird... It was weirder when I waked up surrounded by a circle of people calling for a medic to help me in a mall... Maybe sports or meditation will help you out with your panic attacks.

I'm prone to orthostatic hypotension and vasovagal hypotension, but it's really odd how different those two conditions feel. With the orthostatic version, I feel otherwise fine, but I'm suddenly dizzy and I get this odd feeling in my legs that makes me drop to my knees. With vasovagal hypotension, I not only get that feeling of weakness but also nausea, sweating, turning pale, and graying out. You would think since both involve a drop in blood pressure that they'd feel somewhat similar, but I guess it's different pathways of nervous responses? :/

I have low blood pressure and my orthostatic hypotension is really severe. I actually can’t remember the last time I’ve gotten up from a chair or bed and haven’t had any sense of dizziness. Most of the time when I get up I have to wait a few seconds and then I’m fine. Other times I see stars for a bit and I feel really lightheaded. And sometimes-thankfully not too often-I notice I’m really dizzy, I try to hold on to something, and I do actually black out for about ten seconds. Because my body pretty much completely lets out and starts shaking, it can look like a seizure to some people. It’s really weird because, during that time when I go blind and black out, I am kind of semi-conscious and that’s how I’m able to at least try to hold onto a wall. But yeah, not a pleasant experience 😃

+AlaskanHumpback This doesn't seem like a simple yes/no question. Hypothetically, either side can be argued because of the complexity of blood pressure regulation as well as the plethora of ways you could have low blood pressure in the first place. Dehydration low blood pressure (the common one we get from standing up when we've been on the couch without water for awhile) probably makes you more susceptible to fainting/dizziness. In an athlete, their increased parasympathetic tone-induced blood pressure may make them less susceptible to fainting because of the compensatory mechanisms in place that actually permit that physiologic low blood pressure in the first place. But maybe the answer is just "yes" but I'd want to see that data!
