The cover is relativity inexpensive it is the scroll that is a bit more costive. If you're intention is good and sincere (which is not in doubt) that is what really counts and that you dont desecrate it. Being mindful of the purpose of the mezuzah !

But unlike every other animal with cloven hooves, it is not a ruminant (ie does not chew its cud).
