Saw a comment in a discord that Shrouded Fable "might end up like team-up" because in their eyes they're both "mediocre sets that are short printed", people are way too quick to buy into FOMO and force narratives on sets that are not good like SF.

People are comparing shrouded fable to other sv sets. They need to be comparing it to swsh and sm sets. Shrouded fable kicks the old sets out of the water and has many beautiful cards. No its not prismatic at all. It is better than a lot of sun and moon sets and some swsh.

Scarlet violet hasent released 1 bad set yet. Yes some are weaker like obsidian but if you compare obsidian and shrouded to early sun moon or sword shield sets they are alot better

I’ve been a fan of SF since day one. To say it’s a bad set is just simply not true. Persian, greninja, kingdra, horsea, cresellia, houndoom, okidogi..all amazing artworks. I think people get caught up in the investor side. It’s not about having a $1000 chase card for it to be a good set. It’s about what people like. I go to card shops and almost every time, someone is buying SF. It’s up 50% BEFORE selling out on Pokémon center. It is not a bad play.

If shining fates can go up in value after 3 years then I don't see why Fable can't. Lower print and better cards. Not my #1 pick but definitely not the worst place to put money right now.

Shrouded Fable became a bit of a meme set because it was the only thing in stock during this wave. The SIR cards aren’t great but there’s some cool IR’s and incredible boxes. I think that with everything, it will keep increasing a bit, but won’t ever approach any of the higher or mid tier sets. I bought some but my pulls were so bad I just gave up.

You should look at the set called Legendary Collection and what it is doing now vs. pre 2020 (particularly relative to other similar sets from the era). Cheers

I agree shrouded fable is a bad set compared to other SV sets but buying a couple Pokemon center etbs is never a bad investment IMO. I think the other lowest priced PC etbs from SV are like Paradox and Twilight which are both near $90. So 50% up already. I get maybe there are BETTER places to park money but I have a couple shrouded fable pc etbs 😂🤷🏽

I respect your opinion but top 5 is wild. Prismatic, Paldean Fates, 151, Surging, Paldea Evolved, Twilight, etc. It’s gonna be tough to justify SF T5 IMO.

Still think that shrouded fable is decent to buy as a quick buy and resell or shortterm investment. You can make a lot of people FOMO-buying. No, I don’t see it going over 80 per ETB, but if you can find some boxes under market, like how I got them for 31,50 a couple days ago, it’s a very decent buy in my opinion. So I’m just waiting till they rise to 50-55 and then I sell, in Europe they don’t cry over taxes when doing private selling and buyers pay shipping themselves, so that’s great profit.

SF is catching steam because the crowd with no Prismatic, 151, Journey, or surging is dying to park their money somewhere. Everything else has already been on the rise. SF, along with battle styles vivid voltage are the final ships that this high tide is raising. But that doesn’t change the fact that they are all low hanging fruits when it’s time to sell. Short term, sure. Long term, don’t see it doing better than the hotter sets that require a bit more capital to acquire. Pokemon did a great psychological move by curbing the supply of prismatic, causing everyone to FOMO. Now the shelves are stocked with SF instead. Those same people are flocking back just to buy anything, and SF is the only set they see. Those with great positions in other better sets aren’t pouring their money into SF.
